What would you have done?
I went to GFS today, I came out and there was a car parked in front, inside had three kids,ages..one was about 2 months in the back in a car seat, one in the back strapped in about 2 years old and 1 in the front about 6 years old. NO ADULTS in or around the car! I waited a few minutes, got pissed and called the cops, this is a fairly large town,LOTS of people out today and here were these kids ALONE. As I was calling, one of the managers came out and asked me if I was calling(they saw me on my cell phone and looking at the liscense plate)I said I was calling the police, she said they were getting ready to call to because they saw the kids and knew their mom had been in the store awhile, apparently they (employees) were watching the kids out a window. So I hang up with the po-po and her comes "mom" FULL cart, then the cop...he asked her "do you read the paper?" she said "what?" he said "DO YOU READ THE PAPER?? KIDS ARE TAKEN EVERYDAY" She then started to cry. he said "Imagine how you would have felt,if you would have came out and one or all three of those kids were gone,it only takes a minute and a six year old isn''t going to be able to stop it"
I left after that, but was happy I called, maybe she was scared into realizing HOW STUPID THAT WAS!

I am always amazed at how ignorant some people are, but I don't know why. And it makes you wonder what their home life is like if she was that comfortable leaving them alone in the car at the store like that!

WTG DBD! I wouldve sone the same thing. And with the weather here, what if one of those babies passed out or even worse. In Cali, it happens all the time. Dumb ass people leave their babies in hot cars, and complain because people cared enough to call the cops.

It's against the law here in WA to leave your kids in the car. Some people I use to sit for when I was younger got a fine for leaving his 10, 5 & 4 year old kids in the car while he ran into the grocery store. We saw a dog left in the car today and that really p'd myself and DH off, but we didn't call the cops or anything. People are so ignorant about some things.

I was just like "gawd" when I first realized they were alone. She had the windows half way down and it was a nice day (about 70) but it was like,ok what dumb-dumb would do that? I called after I waited outside by my car (there was a car in between mine and hers) for almost five minutes, then I called. I'm glad those kids are ok,and I hope she was scared enough not to do that again.Oh, there was also a little black dog in there with them, like shellysms's dog,so he wasn't going to be much protection.
Trust me, I have to co-co's to speak up,lol.

RIGHT ON! You did exactly what I would have done. I know what it is like having 4 boys 6 and under. But the grocery store was a fun, learning place for us. My boys shop better than most woman. They coupon, rebate, etc. It is a neccessity to day but we always go for the thrill of the hunt. My oldest graduated college last year and his job pays ok but not well. He has been on his own since his senior year of college. He could not afford to do so without being a smart, informed consumer. People look at having kids all wrong. If they are a chore to her then let someone else.

Glad you called!
Glad you called, I would have too. I doubt the women will wake up and see what she did was stupid. But at least she knows now that she will have the police called on her!

some "parents" using that term loosely are so freaking stupid. I'm guessing it was no where near as hot there as it was here today (our high was said to be 97) not only could her kids have been stolen but depending on the heat they could have ended up dead.. and I'm sorry but wtf kind of person leaves three kids in the car while they do a full cart of shopping? they shouldn't even leave a kid in the car to get a candy bar at a gas station let alone a full damn cart. urgg.. sorry scums of the earth like that make me so mad

That was so nice of you! Last summer a woman forgot supposedly to drop her child off to daycare. Left the baby all day in the summer heat in the car while she was at work. Of course it died and last I heard she totally got away with it. Honestly how could anyone forget their baby in a car?

I have forgotten my keys, I have forgotten my badge to get in the building, I have even forgotten my lunch. I have never "forgotten" my kids.

I'm guessing this was in Findlay? I was in Findlay yesterday and there was all kinds of traffic everywhere, meaning all kinds (and I mean ALL KINDS) of people. You did the right thing. I don't know what people think when they do stupid stuff like that. Was she just a young mom or old enough to know better? I guess I didn't phrase that right, anyone should know better than to leave 3 young kids in a car all alone. I'd have done the same thing!

You have to have a license for:
1. A gun
2. Hunting
3. Fishing
4. Marriage
5. Most jobs
BUT A PARENTING LICENSE???
Hell no! Been saying this for years now! ANYone with eggs and sperm an procreate and no one cares.
Takes one hell of a person to be a PARENT!
Poor children.
