Help with name of a old tv movie

Does anyone remember a movie on TV back around 1975. The only thing I can remember about the movie was that it scared the crap out of me (I was 16).
There was these little people, demons, not sure what they were but they were very small. And they were trying to kill the people that moved/lived in the house. One part I remember is they tied a string across the steps so the lady would trip over it and they could get her then. I think they lived under the stairs.

Does anyone remember Trilogy Of Terror, Karen Black was in it. The last one of the trilogy scared me to. Where the little tribal guy thing started stabbing her with his spear.
I found this one on Netflix and it is rated R and it was a TV movie back in the mid 70's. Going to get it and see if it still scares me like it did back when I was teenager.

The string on the stairs sounds really familiar to me and it sounds like the kind of movie I would watch, but, sorry I cant come up with a name. Wouldnt mind watching it (again?) if the name pops up.:) the Karen Black one you mentioned doesnt sound familiar to me.

I remember. While watching the movie someone knocked on the kitchen window of our raised ranch. It freaked my sis and I out. We thought we were going goofy. Then it happened again. turned out to be an old friend of the family who was 7 feet tall. After this movie my sis would talk thru the vent, "Laura we want you". Used to scare the crap outts me until I caught her. But I cannot remember the name. I'll wait til sis gets home from work. She'll remember.

I used to love horror movies. I must have outgrew them I have no interest at all to see horror now.

Wow!! I remember watching that when I was just a little kid..you know how your parents would say no you can't watch a movie because you will have bad dreams..well prime exapmple right here...lmao!!!

Thanks everyone for your help. It looks to me like it could be Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark. I just read a thing on it and it really sounds like it.
Now if I can find a cheap DVD copy of it somewhere. Netflix doesn't have it.

Thanks, I was just about to order this when I went to youtube and found it on there. It is in 9-10 minute increments, I might just watch this tonight after the grandbaby goes to bed.

That one scared the **** outta me when I was a kid. I had to sneak up in the night to watch it, keeping the sound turned down really low so my grandparents wouldn't hear. I had nightmares the rest of the night.

The Zuni doll was the best of the 3. I think the 1st one was about her and her mom. In the 2nd, I'm pretty sure she played herself and her sister too. They did a sequel in the mid 90's also. Trilogy Of Terror 2. It wasn't as good tho. Or maybe because i was grown when I saw it and not 10, like when I watched the 1st one! :D

Thank you! There is a movie that I watched back in the 70s that I would love to see again and all I remember is that it was about Devil worship... I believe it was " Race With The Devil". I'm going to use that link alot.
