View Full Version : How many uses dust ruffles?
I have been using one on the guest bed for about 2 yrs. I don't think I have had a pleasant time changing the linens the entire time I have used it. It is frilly and white and I have stopped trying to keep it straight and when I put the bottom sheet on the dust ruffle gets pushed under the top mattress and today when I washed a nd changed that bed I had had it (this was after the pee pee incident and I was already stressed). I removed the aggravating thing and at this time it is lying in the middle of my floor waiting for dh to come home so I can tell him he can have it for a wiping rag.
So
Do you like them, love them, use one, want one?

I keep one on my bed but my DD's bed has drawers, so can't use one there. I like mine, there aren't real frilly or anything tho.
I have one on my bed. Only cause Dh puts anything he can't find a place for goes there. I quit trying to clean it out, since it just ticks me off.
I even have a pool stick there, I don't know what he is thinking...

Can't use them. Trying to vacuum under the bed would be a pain. Too small in my apartment to maneuver.

I have 2 pool sticks in cases under my bed, LMAO!
And the dust ruffle hides my dust bunnies. If you can't SEE them, you don't have to clean them as often! :D

I like the looks of them but don't have them on my bed. I won't say why or you'll think I'm weird but it has to do with bugs. :paranoid

We have them on all of our beds except on my youngest sons, he has a captains bed with drawers.
I like them because they cover up the ugly boxsprings.
I'm with hippie on the dust bunnies cept mine can get to be dust hippos sometimes. Y'all dont realize how much dust you have in your house until you have had hard wood floors.

I use them in my guest room but have the dust ruffle pinned down. I have a huge comforter on my bed that goes all the way to the floor so no need.

If they can climb up the dust ruffle, they can climb up the bed post. LOL
Sorry, i'm just messin' with ya. I'm pretty sure i'm in the same boat with you on the bug issue. I should buy stock in insecticides LMAO

It's one of those things that makes logical sense. So I don't know why I think they're more likely to crawl up fabric as opposed to metal or wood.

lol.. I wish his were in a case. His catches me everytime I round the bed. OUCH!
I never thought of it hiding dust bunnies too. They need a place to live too!
Good Idea!

Anyone seen that horror movies about the dust bunnies that are alive and eat the people's feet?? :D
Just one more reason to never let my feet hang off the bed!

I use one to hide the stuff I store under the bed. I have a soft side water bed...so there in no picking up the mattress to put on a standard ruffle, so I use the one w/ the elastic all around it. It rides up and I'm forever tugging it back down, but it's better than nothing.

I don't have one on my bed and we store stuff under the bed also. But I have solid sides to my bed and I don't want to cover them up. plus there isn't a good way to put it on. i have a solid sheet on my box spring

I got one on our bed, but it's old n starting to rip on the side that lies on the boxspring. tucking in the sheets did that in. When the dog was alive, she used to have this habit of rubbing her face on it, so it'd have traces of eye snots. So washing it often wore it out also, I'm sure.

That's why I use them. Hides the box springs. They look nice too. But can be a pain.

Thanks for that. Now you've just given me another reason not to hang MY feet off the bed. I already tuck my feet under the blanket. You know, so the monsters under the bed don't grab my feet.

I haven't used a dust ruffle in years. I just take a fitted sheet that coordinates with the rest of the bedding and use it instead. I don't have to worry about dust bunnies,my Roomba takes care of that.

LMAO, that is exactly why I use one on our bed.
He was putting something under there the other day. I asked him what it was.. he said "my roller cart". His roller cart is the little rolling cart he uses when he is working on the car. Apparently, he bought another one for in the house when he is working under the sinks. Ok, wouldn't be a problem, but we have all new plumbing. He must be thinking ahead.

We use them because we use the comforter sets instead of a bedspread. I think it would look funny if we didn't use the dust ruffle. The comforter wouldn't come down far enough to cover up the edge of the bed frame. We bought the baby's crib and crib bedding over the weekend. On the package it showed a ruffle on the picture but one didn't come with it so I will be getting that soon.

No. Absolutely not. I think the devil created those things just to piss ppl off. I'd rather my box spring show... I'm just not patient enough to try to mess w/ them.

Yep they hide what is hiding underneath the bed.
