first off let me say, I'm sorry if this offends anyone. but this just makes me so freaking angry. - also you do a google search and find all the newspaper accounts on this too.

have ya'll read the story of poor baby "London Marie Sherwood"..She died at age 3 months dec. 2007..

there are blogs and memorials all over the internet for this poor beautiful baby girl....

most are talking about the dad and his abuse to this baby girl. i did research and found news paper and other news articles. AS SOON AS THE MOTHER FOUND OUT FROM DNA TESTS THAT HE WAS THE BABY'S FATHER, SHE DROPPED HER OFF TO HIM AND NEVER CAME BACK. it was also said that she smoked and drank during pregnancy... am i the only one that thinks she's as much to blame as he is???? and all he got for causing this beautiful lil girls death is 9 years prison and 9 months probation,,, ain't that a load of crap.

ok, DISCLAIMER... if you are soft hearted, do not look it left my poor hard heart broke and in tears.......

JUST FLAT PISSES ME OFF.:getyou :slapping :banghead: :threaten

this is just one of the sights its posted on.... i got it on my myspace today and wasn't sure how to get it from there..so here is the youtube video it says that this baby was the love of her life.. i don't get, if she'd even visited in the 3 weeks she'd have seen the baby wasn't being treated right and took her out of htere.

some of the blogs say that her mother didn't abandon her, but who would leave their tiny baby with someone for 3 weeks.....

I can't comment on the mother, I don't know enough about this story. What I can comment on is the press, and the courts, and I can make those comments from first hand experience. My granddaughter was murdered by her mother and step-father just shy of her 4th birthday. The press made my ex-DIL sound like the poor girl who had a hard life, and the step-father the fine, upstanding citizen who had nothing to do with the murder. The facts were that the baby (Bethanie) had fractures that were two weeks old, and died from a lacerated liver. His boot print was on her abdomen. Sure, he had nothing to do with it. Bethanie also had not been fed in at least three weeks and weighed 27 lbs. Poor mom and her hard life. The press and the defense attorneys made it sound like it was all my son's fault that this happened, saying he should have intervened. What they didn't tell was that we all lived over an hour away and that we had been turned away at the door for over a month when going to get the girls for visitation. What they didn't say was that the last time we had the girls (July 4th) they both looked to be in perfect health and had no reason to suspect they were being abused. What they didn't say was that on the day of her murder (July 13th) we had been turned away again and had called an attorney to fight for our right to have visitation. The step-father got 24 yrs to life, the mother got 3 years. Three years for starving her child, three years for denying her child medical care, three years for watching and perhaps participating in the abuse of her own child. Poor mom and her hard life. The press wrote the story to get readers, the defense did their best to make the murderers look like saints. In the story of little London, the only one I can comment on is the man who murdered her, and my only comment is that I hope he suffers horribly for the rest of his life.

Where was all that loving concern for the baby when she was alive? Didn't she visit her at all while he had her? And if she did didn't she notice that she was being abused? What kind of person would just leave their baby with someone like that. I wonder if she feels any guilt or responsibility for what happened to the baby. If I had done that and she died it would haunt me the rest of my life. But theres no way I'd leave my baby like that.

It sounds like they think someone else might have done some of the injuries. I wonder if it was this so-called mama that cares so much for her baby. If they can prove it I hope they press charges against her too.

ITA, it would be good to have some info before flaming the woman who's baby was murdered. I have to agree it seems odd to leave a baby with it's father for three weeks IF she didn't visit, but we don't have the whole story. Otherwise, it certainly wouldn't be the first time a dad had custody. Anyone have links to news stories? They will be widely inaccurate, but better than nothing.

things just don't add up for me. I know there are 2 side to both stories. If she didn't take the baby to the daddy until after the DNA it would lead me to think that maybe the father didn't want any thing to do w/ the baby before and why would he suddenly after? I wonder if there is any follow up to the injuries if they all came before the baby was dropped off. How sad to have a baby in your house and not do any thing to help her. While he needs to be responsible b/c he is the dad why did the boys father not help and the live in girl friend. As a mom you would think she would want to help but I guess she only cared about her kids.... how sad all the way around but it sounds like this poor innocent child is better off. No telling how worse it could get if she lived longer.

I wasn't able to find any thing different or new when I googled it.

I went through pages and pages on various search engines, including newspaperarchives.com and NOTHING came up about this baby.

two of us, at least, searched google and no newspaper articles came up -- just blog upon blog.

Can you post the links to the actual newspaper articles that you found?

TIA

thanks.

this one just gets me... I think she should have been charged too.

I certainly feel no sympathy for her (the mother)... and there is NO mention of her parents, siblings or other relatives.

The baby's death came about three weeks after her mother abandoned her, according to court documents, after it was determined from DNA tests that Schaak was the father. The mother, who wasn't named in the criminal complaint, "had been drinking alcohol and smoking through pregnancy," the complaint said.

I still think that she should have been charged too. With at least negligence for not going and checking on her to make sure she was ok in his care.
