Need ideas for 50th birthday...

My DH turns 50 this year in June :yikes
I want to throw a surprise party for him. Well, not too much of a surprise, lol....wouldn't wanna kill him!!!

Anyone have any good ideas for decorations or gag gifts, not too mean tho.

You could buy him a Rocking chair. One of the nice fancy ones and put on the porch afterwards.

DH will be 47 this year but I already have his 50th planned out. I am going in the other direction and hiring strippers lol

A friend of mine turned 50 last year and we did the whole "over the hill" them...we got black balloons (50 of course), some fake buzzards, an over the hill walker, some duct tape (got to hold up that sagging skin you know?), and some other things..even had a candle that played the funeral march when it was lit.

Surprised my 'baby' brother for his 50th -- hung black crepe paper from ceiling to floor in his entry way to the livingroom, and found a picture of him on a rocking horse (about 1-1/2 or 2 years old) and had the photo put on his birthday cake. His kids thought it was hilarious!

My dh turned 50 almost 4 years ago.. we didn't do anything big and I don't remember why.. However I am making it up to him on his 55th

*wait yes I do... His mother's 75th bday was the same year and their bdays are 2 days apart and they celebrated that in MD while I was up here.

How about 50 "gifts" each gift having 50 items? Nothing extravagant, like 50 M&M's, 50 sticks of gum, 50 pennies, nickles or dimes, 50 rocks(for the old fossil) etc.

My husbands sister (not for his 50th) gave him one time a gift basket that had a jar of black jelly beans, hemmorhoid cream, a bottle of Geritol vitamins, arthritis cream, etc.

My husband did just pass his 50th and one thing we did was make a picture board (Could be a scrapbook), of pictures of him as a baby through adulthood. Got some cd's of music from his "era" and invited a LOT of friends for an open house.

If you have a Party America story, they have a lot of age 50 and over the hill decorations too.

i always did the over the hill party at 40, and did a "DEATH VALLEY" party for 50, lol. gag gifts of adult diapers, & make him put one on over his clothes, Ensure drinks, we wired 2 little magnifying glasses together to make glasses, we made him sit in a wheelchair the whole time, if he got up he had to use a walker, some fake false teeth so he could Pre-chew his food, lol. a gift certificate to dr kavorkian(sp?) - some might not find it funny but we knew he would, lmao... had the cake look like a desert, little action figure trying to claw his way across the cake , i make lil paper signs that said birth at one end and death at the other.. had lil halloween skeletons in different places along his "path" across the cake. just be sure to put "him" really close to the death end of the cake.

lmao, yes i'm a horrible horrible person, lmao. but mind you when i was 19 i was dating a 50 year old so i've had lots of experience with how to abuse a 50 year old man, lmao

My sil did the over the hill for my bother black ballons a graveyard cake.
What I did for him was went to the libray and found his birth anouncememt and the front page of the news paper the day he was born and framed it. Then I did a search of the top songs every year for the past 50 years (he was a music buff) and made him cd's of the songs.
