Open Office??

I thought that Open Office documents were supposed to be compatible with Microsoft documents? I tried to open an OO document in MS Word and it failed. I tried to open an OO spreadsheet in MS Excel and that failed, too. Am I doing something wrong?

I thought it was the other way around..that you could open a Word, Excel, or other Microsoft product in Open Office and use the same kind of formats and stuff.

Ohhh. I thought they were interchangeable. Oh no! Adam doesn't have MS Word or Excel on his laptop and has some documents he wants me to print. So he emailed them to me (our printer is not networked to the laptop/router because we don't know how to do that) for me to print, but now I can't...oops.

I'm not sure how to get the Open Office documents open...do you have Open Office on your computer? If not, if you do a search, you can find the software for free to download...not sure if that will help you though.
