We had to put one of our kitty's to sleep this morning. Crystal has been sick since December and today was the time .. she is now at peace. I have never had to do this, my dad always did it. But now that I am an adult, I know what he went through.

RIP Crystal .. you'll be missed, but never forgotten :sad

When I had to put my ferret down, I lived at home and you can guess who took her .. my dad. I just couldn't do it.

Sorry for your loss too.

So sorry, Misty. I know how upset you are. It so hard, they are like part of the family. If I weren't so tired I'd say lets go get a drink in memory of Crystal.

I am saddened by your loss. :(

I am not looking forward to the day when Chelsea leaves this world...we have had her for over 7 years now...but I know the time is coming soon -- she was 9 when we got her, and cats don't live (normally) much longer than about 20 years.

Many hugs and positive thoughts being sent your way.

Awww Misty, :hug I know exactly what you mean.....I had to put my kitty to sleep in January. I hope I never have to go through that again. I still miss him so much. My heart goes out to you :hug :hug

Very sorry for your loss... been there, done that. Well, hubster actually 'took care of it', and then we both cried for days.

Three times now, since I have 'been an adult'... yea, my Dad took care of everything before too. My 12 yr. old cat Kinky in 1995, our 16 yr. old Doberman Reddbudd in 1999, and, our 12 yr. old Doberman Maggie in 2001... and I have one now, Goobs, who just turned 8 in January, and, these big guys don't live much past 12... our 16 year old Doberman (and we had papers to prove it) was the oldest full size Doberman our Vet had ever handled.

It is tough, tough, tough.

Yea... they are never gone from your heart or memory, in there, they live forever. I love my Reddbudd, Maggie Mae and Kinky just as much as if they were still here... and really they are here, in my thoughts.

I am really sorry... I do know what it's like. My heart goes out to you guys right now. :(

So sorry on your loss. I went thru this on Feb 15, 2008 with my 15 yo schnauzer, Harley. The grief and the guilt can be overwhelming at times. It has helped having her ashes back from the crematorium, I talk to her all the time. Blessed Be~hugs!

Thanks everyone .. and I am sorry for all your losses as well :hug. It's hard, but the right thing to do.

Yes, Ev, it's the same cat we talked about. And atprm, we have a Chelsea too .. she is 13 and it will be very hard when the day comes for her to go back home.
