View Full Version : Who has the Best Selection of Easter Baskets this year?

The past couple of years I have been disappointed with Walmart's selection of baskets. I mean they have a ton of them but they all pretty much had the same cheap toys or basketballs in them. I was just wondering if anyone had seen any neat ones for boys this year (what was in them and how much)? I need two for my boys ages 8 and 6. Thanks.

I haven't really seen any so far this year that I like either. I did see Walmart's because Greta made sure I knew she wants one with a dump truck in it LOL I normally end up buying everything myself and then putting it in a basket. Of course I always get too much stuff and the baskets look like I just dumped everything on top of each other. Sorry I'm not much help!

Sorry I also make mine.

I do know that Sam's club and other places like that often sell them. Didn't notice if BJ's has any yet or not. HAve you looked at Target sometimes they have them in things like buckets and other different things.

DH suggested that I make them too. But I know that I will spend WAY too much money if I do it that way. However, if I can't find any that I like that's probably what I'll do. Walmart did have these really cool ones with Big super soaker style squirt guns three years ago for $19.99. I haven't seen anything in the past couple of years that has topped that.

Walgreens had some pretty okay ones, plus they were buy one get one 50% off.

The past few years I have made mine too. For the prices that WalMart charges for premade ones, filled with stuff that breaks in 5 minutes, I can get some good stuff, good candy and make my own. Plus I always add a few Disney Dollars in my kids' stuff.

Last year I bought a little dump truck, and used it as the basket for my 3 yr old. He loved it.

I've never bought pre-made easter baskets. I think it's fun to buy lots of little goodies to make my own. I went to the dollar tree today and bought DD tons of Peeps stuff. She loves Peeps and I never buy them because I think they are the nastiest things ever invented. But she does, so I got her Peeps everything; the actual Peeps, bubbles, coloring book, felt coloring sheets, lollypops, plush, etc.

See now our dollar store never has anything good in it...seriously. The few times I've gone to it and actually found something, the lines were so long (that's what happens when you have 2 checkers and about 50 people) that it's not worth waiting for IMO.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who hates those Peeps. My son thinks those are the best things ever invented...ick.

We have always made ours... Only because its cheaper. I just go to the Dollar tree and get everything there. I can make them for way cheaper than those pre-made ones. If I could afford them, I would most likely buy the pre-made ones. Its just easier and time saving, I like to save time when ever I see it possible!

With three kids (who have three half brothers/sisters) I always ordered from the Oriental Trading company and made my own baskets. I also always hit the store up after the holidays and buy when 50-75% off and then save the stuff for next year as well. Not candy, but the stuffed animals and toys.

My DD just gets TOO much stuff. She has me, 2 dad's, a grown bro and 3 sets of grandparents that buy for her. So this year, we ordered from Oriental Trading and are going to make up some small baskets and take them to the womens shelter where I volunteer, for the kids there.

Our Krogers have stuffed Peeps. They aren't really stuffed like the original stuffed animals. I think they are the tiny little ball balls. I just love those.

I saw a cute Smurf bunny the other day. My daughter said it was creepy though.

Hey, Heidi do you have Grocery Outlet where you are? They have a ton of Peep toys like stuffed animals, yo-yos, etc.

I have never bought a premade Easter basket. For the $20.00 they want for them I can make a really nice Easter basket.

I have to get up off my butt and start my Easter candies though. I am so far behind this year.

It was at the antique mall. It was really kind of cute in a creepy Smurf way.

Here is what he looked like. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m162/miccit/20496_Smurf_In_Bunny_Suit.jpg

Yes, we do have Grocery Outlets here. I'll have to check it out. I showed DH what I've bought her so far and he told me I was retarded. She'll love it though, so that's all that matters.

OMG penis lip gloss. That is too funny.

I am getting my friend a penis water bottle for her 40th birthday. I am actually doing her up a whole gift bag of things like that from Hustler Hollywood.

I am considering revenge on the snotty, mean to me PTA witches at school. They have refreshments with their meetings. I am thinking about buying some penis plastic silverware to mix in with their regular plastic silverware.

I was at Walgreens today and saw some peeps stuff that made me think of your daughter. They had those ring pops but only they were peeps instead of hard candy and they had farm animal peeps (frogs, cows, and some other creatures). My daughter made me buy her some of the ring pop peeps.

KMART had a huge selection of easter baskets this year. Prices ranged from $5 to $19.99 for the really nice ones. I picked out two of the Pirates of the Caribbean baskets. My son had a pirate themed birthday last year and he's still into pirate stuff. These had a metal basket, a treasure chest, beaded necklaces, rings, coins (for the chest), a periscope, treasure map, bandanna, and eye patch. They also had about 6 or 7 pieces of candy. The only thing it didn't have (and I won't miss it) is that cheap easter grass that seems to get everywhere when the kids open their baskets. I would rather them have the toys then a bunch of candy. I am going to get them a chocolate bunny too though. Other themes that I saw were Yugi-oh, Cars, Dinosaur baskets, for girls they had baskets with baby dolls and knock off Barbies. They also had ones with jewelry and art kits in them. They also had more generic baskets with the big plastic cars, and one with an Army vehicle and action figures. They had more for girls too but I wasn't buying for a girl so I didn't pay too much attention to them.

Glad you found some. I hate that easter grass so much!!! I stopped buying that and now buy the edible easter grass....my kids love it and it doesn't spread like that other stuff.
