That was a touching story. I had no idea that something like this had happened. I am glad that something is now being done about it. It really isn't a "shame on people" situation. I know it said that some were "abandoned" by family but a lot of these veterans did not have family or outlived them. Then the funeral homes have legalities to deal with, which is the shameful part.

I doubt it, I believe it is like an indigent funeral, the gov't pays the check and that is the end...but I am not 100 percent for sure
