When DH got that virus I had to do a complete reformat. Have you tried that?

I dont know how to do that, do you mean dump windows and re-install?
Or do you mean "go back" to a previous point on the comp?

Also, for right now, how do I start in safe mode? F8 isnt it?

Sorry it's back.

What kind of firewall are you running? You don't really have to go anywhere to get a virus if you have open ports.

I dont even know.

I think I have a firewall turned on, but I dont remember where to look. Gawd, I feel so exposed.
I just want to cry.

I keep trying to open into safemode and when I finally got there, the comp was frozen, I had to turn it off by the button which is not good. Ugh, I feel so beat down lol

OK I have that windows firewall, it says its on.

I found the system restore thingy, should I restore to an earlier date? Will that make this thing go away?

If you have open ports, then yes, they can access your info. If you have bank, CC info, password lists, pins etc on your PC, back them up and delete them until you're sure the trojan is gone.

If that doesn't work, you can try this....
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php

You D/L the software and run it. It compiles a report about what is running on your PC. Then you post the report in the help forums there, and someone will go thru it with you, with step-by=step instructions for removing it.

OK quick question, if I restore back to an earlier date, will the things I deleted earlier be back on? For example, yesterday I deleted everyone off my yahoo e-mail address book, will they all be back now? If I do a restore.

I feel you girl. My husband's computer picked up something and took out his Norton and IE. I have to work on it this weekend to see if I can get rid of it without reformatting his computer I figure that I will probably have to end up reformatting it though.
