I have been having such a rough time ever since finding out we're expecting again. I am right now at 22 weeks and have been on several different blood pressure meds. I am currently taking a "cocktail" of 2 different kinds. Several weeks back my OB called and said the maternal markers on one of my tests came back indicating Down Syndrome. Obviously I was freaked out and scared but had already decided that I will welcome any baby God has chosen for me. So I had a amnio and the preliminary results show their is no Down Syndrome and everything looks "normal" from that test.

My specialist felt that I should have a ultrasound every 3-4 weeks to monitor the growth of the baby, due to the meds I am on. So last week I went to see him and he did the U/S and told me that the bottom half of the placenta was detached and a small portion of the cord had died. I will now go every 2 weeks for U/S to see if it has gotten worse, baby growth, etc. He said the most likely cause was my high blood pressure.

I'm just really sad about all this right now. However on a good note, I do feel the baby move around on a regular basis. Her heart and brain function looked excellent on the last ultrasound, but she did measure a little small at 4-6 ounces, though I have lost about 15 pounds from just being constantly sick all day long. If everyone could just send some good vibes my way I would really appreciate it!

Sending you prayers and good vibes. God is an awesome God he wouldn't send anything to you that you couldn't handle. He has blessed you with a precious gift. I know the medical part is scary but have faith that everything will be OK:grouphug
