I'm supposed to have a dental implant tomorrow. Last time I wasn't able to go through with it. It wasn't because of the pain but because I tend to gag and the dentist had me tilted so far back, I was almost upside down and the Novocain (or whatever was used) started to run down my throat and it freaked me out.

So going to a different dentist this time and hoping and praying I can go through with it and that it all goes smoothly.

I'll be praying for you. Hopefully with this dentist things will be easy and there will be no problems. :hug I have to admit I sit and shake while I am having dental work done.

Prayers for you and your dentist as well. Maybe he will give you laughing gas this time then you won't know when he tilts you back so far. Hope it all goes smoothly for you and the implant is a success.

You need to go to an oral surgeon and go nite nite, or ask the dentist for a pill that you put on ur tongue that sedates

He is an oral surgeon and they are supposed to give me something to make me relax. I think I could use something right now... LOL. I'm already really nervous. I shouldn't be because I've had so much dental work done.

Thank you all :flowers:! I survived the appointment. Now I just have to hold this ice pack on my face most of the day but the worst is over. :dance

The oral surgeon did a great job because I feel fine. I put ice packs on it all weekend and took some Advil mainly for a little bit of swelling. But never had to take any painkillers.

Thank you for asking.
