I guess the lesson she taught her daughter was its ok to lie if you want to win something. I feel sorry for the little girl. Thats sad.

I saw this on the news. The mother should have known better. Hugs go to the little girl. All she wanted to do was win tickets.

I think that this was a real shame for that little girl. She just thought she was going to see a concert. Why would a mother risk that with a lie that she knew would have to come out? Didn't she realize how the media is? They are relentless these days. It is hard to find out that her daddy was still living. This reminds me of this guy that worked for my DH, he came over one Saturday morning crying hysterically that his wife had died and wanted to know if he could borrow 50.00 because he had to go to a clinic where her body was. Well my husband and I felt terrible for this man so we gave him the money. Well later I remembered he said she was at a clinic. I asked my husband why would they take somebody who was sick to clinic instead of the emergency room. Well I got a really bad feeling that we were lied to and I knew that his wife worked at a local retail store in town, so I called and asked if she had passed away( I used to work at the same store so i knew people there) They said that she didn't die because she had been working since 7:30 that morning. Well my Dh was really ticked off the guy no longer works for him anymore and he made him give him the 50.00 back. Didn't mean to take over this thread I am sorry. I just don't understand someone lying so they can steal. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I cheated some out of something. I feel real sorry for that women's little girl, so is the one that got hurt again sorry about my little story.

Hannah Montana ticket winner loses prize Sat Dec 29, 3:25 PM ET

GARLAND, Texas - A 6-year-old girl who won four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert with an essay falsely claiming her father died in Iraq isn't going to the show after all.

The contest's sponsor, a store chain named Club Libby Lu, withdrew the prize Saturday and awarded it to another contestant. It didn't identify the new winner.

"With this decision, we hope to revive the intended spirit of the contest, which was designed to make a little girl's holidays extra special," Club Libby Lu chief executive Mary Drolet said in a statement Saturday.

Officials of the Chicago-based chain surprised the girl on Friday at a Club Libby Lu store in mall in this Dallas suburb. Club Libby Lu sells clothes, accessories and games for young girls.

The girl won a makeover that included a blonde Hannah Montana wig, as well as the grand prize: airfare for four to Albany, N.Y., and four tickets to the sold-out Hannah Montana concert on Jan. 9.

The opening line in the essay was: "My daddy died this year in Iraq."

The girl's mother had told Club Libby Lu officials that the girl's father died April 17 in a roadside bombing in Iraq, company spokeswoman Robyn Caulfield said. But the mother, Priscilla Ceballos, admitted later Friday that the essay and the military information she provided about her daughter's father were untrue. "We did the essay and that's what we did to win. We did whatever we could do to win," Ceballos said in an interview Friday with KDFW-TV of Dallas. "But when (Caulfield) asked me if this essay is true, I said `No, this essay is not true.'"

The Associated Press was unable to find a phone number for Ceballos on Saturday.

She is one of those "What ever it takes to win" types. Prob contacting a lawyer to sue over the prize and has the child hurt and angry about being wronged. SAD.

I know, that act like SHE is the victim or something, she deserves some harassment... DUH!

I feel bad for the daughter, but its obvious that mother is going to continue to lie and deceive her child, did you hear where she said "I told her I refused to accept the tickets" Matt says, "Uh did you refuse them or they took them back?" To me she is acting like she didn't do anything so wrong...
