We usually stay home with the kids, but this year we have a sitter. And about 4 different things we could do. Some friends want to go to the Fou Winds, Casino. Others downtown Chicago, another to the local bar, and our good friends are having a party at their house..... So right now its a toss up...

I bet Vegas would be fun!*!* Some friends of our on their way back from there as I type. Well they should be at the airport in about 15 minutes. i can't wait to see pictures at least.

We are going to stay home and watch movies with popcorn and some soda. We always watch the ball drop and then we run out and scream HAPPY NEW YEAR at the top of our lungs, I have done it every year since I had Sheyanne, who is 12, and now we all do it. Fun stuff!

Just staying home and watching the ball drop. We're closed New Year's Day at work. But there's a mandatory meeting at 9a.m. Anyone who doesn't show is fired. There's going to be a lot of hung over people at that meeting.

We always have a get-together at my mom's, but for the past two years it's when we do our Christmas as well. So we have to be there today at 3pm to open gifts. Afterwards we will have "dinner", which consists of tons of finger foods that we'll munch on throughout the evening. Typically the adults stay upstairs and play Trivial Pursuit and other games. The kids play downstairs with board games or watch TV. What will be interesting this year is we'll have 3 toddlers, which last year were 3 sleeping babies. LOL Oh...and the family will be watching the UK Wildcats playing football in Nashville on TV.

We have a bar about a block from us, so if any of my buyers pay we'll head down there for a drink. Otherwise we'll just stay home and watch movies.

I refuse to go out on "amateur drunk night". So I will be home and watch all the fire works my neighbors have bought. I swear they go to Georgia and buy all the fireworks that state has and bring them home just for New Years and 4th of July.

For those that do go out - please take a cab or have a designated driver.

We are staying home and playing board games with our kids. I got my husband a Belgian Waffle Maker for Christmas so we are going to try it out. We usually have appetizers but couldn't find any that looked good this year.

Everyone have a safe and Happy New Year. :hug

They are doing it to be mean. They expect us not to have a life outside the store. One boy who works there had plans to go to New York and he had to cancel them. My daughter is a shift leader there and she was going to go to her friend's house for a party tonight. Everyone going to the party was just going to stay overnight instead of driving home. My daughter mentioned that now she had to cancel her plans and the store manager flipped out on her. She asked her if she was going out to get tanked and my daughter said no, she was just going to have a couple drinks to ring in the new year. She told my daughter she was a very poor example for the store. It wasn't like she's going out and breaking the law and getting arrested. People need to have live's out of work. Ok, done venting....just makes me mad.

We are heading out to our local hot spot with 15 or so of our friends to ring in the new year. I spent sooo many NYEs staying at home and now that the kids are older, we want to go out as much as possible

(just the other ppl) ugh.. I can't wait though, apparently there is a new fire work they will be setting off this year. :D

What kind of store do you work at? Poor example? Oh Please, that just stupid. My thought is that that person has no life or a lonely and insists others join her.

Staying home, like SLance, I refuse to go out on "amateur drunk night". Kids are home so movies an popcorn. Hopefully I can make it to watch the ball drop, I didn't make it last year. lol

Well, now that everyone cancelled their plans, she called everyone and cancelled the meeting....no reason why. My daughter thinks she did it because she is very religious and didn't want people going out drinking since she doesn't drink.

I can't believe some people, that is so mean - is it a mom and pop store or bigger? If there is a "higher authority" I think I would reaise the biggest stink there was until I got rid of her

But then again, karma will get her!

Sitting home by myself & the 2 furbabies. I was invited to a family party but we had a snowstorm last night which left 6 inches which means no where to park plus black ice. I had thought of buying a bottle of wine but I forgot. But then today was an awful stressful day & I must have taken 6 Xanax so maybe wine would not have been a smart move.
Happy New Year!

We're home with the kids. My oldest has a friend spending the night. We made a cheese platter, some lil smokies in bbq sauce and some chocolate cheesecakes. Oh and some orange punch! We're watching tv, chatting and will watch the ball drop on tv tonight. :)

I didn't get any good pics and none of me.... but OMG! We parked at the Palms (casino off the strip) and walked down there, I had to go to the bathroom so bad and boy was that an ordeal getting into a casino, there were road blocks all over and tons of people plus the closest casino was only allowing ppl w/ players cards or room keys in. We finally find one and then decide we want to be further from the strip so we can see a better view of the fireworks, so start heading back the way we came and was that an ordeal. I don't remember that many people in previous years. You couldn't move, everyone was pushing, there were times where I'm pretty sure I wasn't using my feet but still moving through the crowd, it was so awesome! LOL Everyone in the party just hung on to each other. It was total madness. I mean we were up against each other tight, so I got to know some stranger's back very well :lol Luke says he lost a testie in all that, I wish I could have gotten a picture, I've never experienced anything quite like that and really I don't mind big crowds. We were eventually able to get out and get away and the fireworks were of course amazing like always. :D I can't wait for next year! :D
