That said.....I think people should be free to love who they want. Love is an awesome thing, that has no boundaries, and hits you when you least expect it. I'm actually going to a gay marriage on the 29th of December, and couldn't be more excited! (But geez, talk about not knowing what to wear to a wedding!!)

Maybe more of us should be asking ourselves if it were written in the Bible that only female/female or male/male relations were allowed what we would do then? I for one would not be able to feel attracted to another woman no matter who told me it was the only "right" way. This is how every homosexual probably feels, like they can never be in the right. I truly believe that it is more in how you love a person than who you love. If you can commit youself to another person for the rest of your life, through sickness and health, good times and bad...that is what matters.

Of our society....isn't it ironic that we support a president against gay marraige because of its impact on society, yet when another

I also have Democrats and Republicans in my friends and family and at time I do not agree with thier points of view. I don't have to agree with my family and friends with everything they do to love them. I have some family and friends that are married and I don't really care for thier spouse either. But I still wouldn't treat them and different. And for my reglious beliefs I do not believe in gay marriages. I think people can be friends and friendly and still keep thier own opinion. We obviously have 2 groups with very different points of view. Both are feeling insulted by the other. Many in each group think there are some bad people in the other group.

OK, here's what I think we should do. I say that each group should try to show its moral superiority by being kind to the other. You know, kill them with kindness? ;) Make it a competition. Whichever group is the nicest, well, then we'll know that it is the group God side with. LOL! After all, He does want us to be kind to one another, right?

I'll start. I'm with the "God doesn't hate homosexuals" group. For all of you who believe that God will send homosexuals to Hell, I understand you were probably brought up believing that. But leave it all to God to sort out; He will do what is truly right, and no one here on earth needs to worry about that.

Okay so here it goes, I have not posted anything about any part of my opinion because I have been too busy reading everyone elses posts. I have not read the Bible word for word, but my mom knows it well and she quotes on the Bible and I know enough and have heard enough from everyone to know that the Bible speaks of gayness, but I truly believe also that the world has changed in so many ways and that if someone wants to be with someone who loves them than that is what they are going to aim for and get it. I have gay friends and they sometimes seem to be funner to be around than my normal friends lol. one of my friends is even a guy who wants to be a girl and he has all the features of a woman lol...dont ask me how or why but that is his choice and i truly respect that. I know that God is watching all of us and that we will all be judged, but i think we just have to let bigons be bigons.....Can't we all just get along? LOL

Thats the thing with Christians. They seem to think all that don't follow should be scared of the threats of their religion ,what will happen if we don't behave or believe...uhhh..I don't believe.... so therefore the threats of burning because I offended god, mocked god, slept with a man/woman etc..etc...etc... are about as empty to me as if you told me a purple flying monkey was going to come down and and shoot green boogers at me.

That's a big part of why I don't think God cares what religion a person is. What sort of sick, twisted "God" would put billions of His children into a society knowing they will burn for eternity because of it??

Exactly!! What about fifteen hundred years ago when paper was worth more than Gold itself! Not everyone could read, or know the "word of God" so therefor, how could they be "saved"??

It doesn't matter if you believe in God or not, read the bible and believe in it or not. If you live a certain way you will be unhappy. Two commented people of the same sex who are in love will still not have a baby unless lots of medical help is involved or one goes outside the relationship to get pregnant.

Society has long ago experimented with these relationships and found it is best for relationships to be between a man and woman and they be monogamous to raise children.

You may think the old testment was harsh but they had small groups in a community and they could not afford to have anyone upset it to the point of dying off so they did harsh things for their survival.

We see it now with the small comunities who believe in a man having several wives. The young men are chased off when they get older since they are competition to the older men with so many wives. What happens to these young men? It's a hard life for them.

If you live a certain way you will be unhappy. I agree with that. I DON'T agree that gays will be unhappy just because they are gay. Perhaps they don't want kids. If they do want kids they can use surrogates or adoption or a sperm donor. My sister is gay and very happy. Her and her girlfriend both have great careers they love, make an excellent income, own a very nice home with a very large yard. Neither one ever wanted kids. My sister used to babysit my boys sometimes and while she loves them, she has absolutely no desire to have kids of her own.

There are also plenty of heterosexual couples who cannot have kids or don't want them. My other sister is straight and married. Her and her DH are also happily married, have great careers, excellent income, a beautiful largehouse in Orange, CA, and absolutely no desire to have kids. Is she more happy than my other sister? Am I more happy than either of them because I do have kids? I love my boys to bits but sometimes I do wonder if my life would be better if we didn't have kids and I focused on my career instead. Those thoughts don't last long. For me, I wouldn't give up my kids for the best career in the world. That doesn't mean that's everyone's goal though.
