I wouldn't be offended, I usually don't like either one, lol!

No, I would not. I don't see any reason to be offended. I remember when I was in high school and every Christmas concert we did we would sing Christmas and Hanukkah songs. Nobody ever had a problem with it.

No for 2 reasons. One, I would view it as a learning experience because I know nothing about Hannukah. Two, it'd be a nice change from the same old thing every year.

I wouldn't be offended. I would like to hear more variety in Christmas music from other countries.

Its the celebration of a miracle.
What miracle?
Just curious, because I don't remember ever hearing what it's a celebration of. All I know is it's a Jewish holiday.

It's the Festival of Lights. My daughter loves to watch the Rugrats Hannukah special. It is a really cute way to explain the differences in the holidays to kids.

You should hang out with my DH. He hates Christmas music. He is a Scrooge. His Scrooge-ness is starting to rub off on me this year, and I could punch him for it.
No, I would not be offended. I am not offended by any type of music, some of it bugs me, but it never offends me.

I'm sure if I ever have kids, it will be different, but the dogs don't seem to get into the spirit, but they enjoy what Santa leaves :D

My kids have the Wiggles Christmas video and when that song comes on my two yr old daughter gets up and starts dancing, singing "rockin roll, rockin roll" over and over. She even does the guitar movements. It's cute!

I'm with you! .. after coming home last night from shopping (grocery shopping, not Holiday shopping) and being bombarded by HORRIBLE Christmas music,... made me think if people got offended by Hanukkah songs., so thats where I came up w/ the poll question...
As for Wal-Mart playing the Dreidel song, I am shocked & amazed! :dizzy :yikes :afraid: :rolling

I wouldnt mind hearing Chanukah music. I also like Christmas music, it makes me cry though. I love the story of the oil for one night that lasted for 8. It is such a great story of faith and hope.
Many songs are from other lands. O, Christmas Tree and Silent Night are german.
1. Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!
Alles schläft, einsam wacht
Nur das traute heilige Paar.
Holder Knab im lockigten Haar,
Schlafe in himmlischer Ruh!
Schlafe in himmlischer Ruh!
2. Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!
Gottes Sohn, o wie lacht
Lieb' aus deinem göttlichen Mund,
Da uns schlägt die rettende Stund.
Jesus in deiner Geburt!
Jesus in Deiner Geburt!
3. Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!
Die der Welt Heil gebracht,
Aus des Himmels goldenen Höhn
Uns der Gnaden Fülle läßt sehn:
Jesus in Menschengestalt,
Jesus in Menschengestalt.
4. Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!
Wo sich heut alle Macht
Väterlicher Liebe ergoß
Und als Bruder huldvoll umschloß
Jesus die Völker der Welt,
Jesus die Völker der Welt.
5. Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!
Lange schon uns bedacht,
Als der Herr vom Grimme befreit
in der Väter urgrauer Zeit
Aller Welt Schonung verhieß,
Aller Welt Schonung verhieß.
6. Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!
Hirten erst kundgemacht
durch der Engel Alleluja,
Tönt es laut bei Ferne und Nah:
Jesus der Retter is da!
Jesus der Retter ist da!

I have no problem with Christian or Jewish seasonal songs as long as there is no attempt to convert me. I think "Feliz Navidad" is a beautiful song. I enjoy hearing the seasonal and non-seasonal songs of other cultures. Diversity is something I openly embrace.
