Next time I ask my guys what they want for supper, and they answer me with a shoulder shrug, a grunt, or an 'I don't know', they ain't getting nothing. NOTHING! I'm tired of cooking ALL the meals, and then having them complain that they would have liked something different. You know what? I'm not freaking Martha Stewart, and hamburger meat doesn't thaw in the blink of an eye.

Tonight, they are getting peanut and jam. And they'll like it. Trust me. They'll LIKE it.

Seems like when you get married, women are signing a contract saying, " I will cook or be responsible for meals the rest of my life."" Why is that? I love to cook. But it does get old. Even when we eat out, my husband makes me decide. It's sweet, because it's a treat for me and it's nice to choose what I want. On the other hand, I get tired of always having to decide,"whats for supper" When we eat out, you decide

I've stopped asking. My DD almost always says, 'mac & cheese' and DH almost says, "whatever you want to fix." <sigh>

I never ask because I get told it doesn't matter. Now I fix what I think I want to eat and if the rest of the people in the house don't like it, there's always peanut butter & jelly or bologna & cheese sandwiches available if they want to make their own dinner.

i'm sorry, when my boys do that to me, I tell them well then when you figure out what you want, YOU can make it. i have enough to do, between both jobs and school (almost done with school though), i'm not gonna spend half my nights off debating what to cook. i keep frozen stuff they can heat up and they can get over it, if they can't figure out what they want when i'm asking so i can lay something out to thaw

exactly what I do...because no matter what I cook...someones not gonna like it...I have 10 people in my house right now...(me, dh & 4 kids....plus bil, wife & their 2 kids) no matter what you make...someones gonna complain...so I say I'm cooking this and if u don't like it you're on your own!!:getyou lol

This sounds just like my house. I will make something and someone will have something to complain about no matter if they wanted it or not. I have come to the conclusion if you don't like it don't eat it, if your hungry later that's your own fault!!

I don't just get the "I don't know or care". I get 4 different answers. When they do answer they all have a different answer. The only one who doesn't complain or care is the 2 yr. old. She can't talk enough to complain except to say "Nassy" (nasty).

Wow, I can't think of the last time I asked anyone what they wanted for dinner. I just fix what I feel like & everyone eats. If they don't like it - oh well, maybe they'll like tomorrow night's dinner - but they better eat what I fix tonight or they'll just get it as left overs tomorrow.
I know, what a lousy mom (wife). Good thing my DH is not very picky & my children learned from an early age that mom is not a short order cook.
