Oh boy, so where to start.
Yesterday we got our new Charter Telephone service installed and OH BOY did we have "fun". One of the guys put a screw right through our main power line going into the house. Blew half our fuses. So they had to call their supervisor and then call Werth Electric to come out. The supervisor guy was all "oh yea, its all our fault we'll pay for it no problem, blah blah blah" and it was looking like it was OK. Well we go to cook something and the lights in the bathroom got brighter when we turned on the stove. That aint right LOL so we had to have the guy from Werth back over here, then call the power company over to turn off the power, the Werth guy replaced the main power line from the meter to our fuse box and then the Power company had to come back over to turn the power on and then we had to wait 4 and a half more hours for the cable guys to come back to hook up our phone.
What should have been a half an hour job turned out to take 8 hours. Thankfully it didnt cost us any extra money though, its actually a subcontractor for Charter so they'll pay for everything, including the $70.00 charge to shut off the power.
Oh did I mention that our brand new surround sound makes a popping noise when you turn it up or down? It also sounds funny now. Its not even a week old. I didnt say anything because one, its only a forty dollar system and two, the guy is going to end up paying almost $200.00 for everything.

Does anyone know what we can do to fix the surround sound? It was on when the power cut off.

But I do have something to be happy about. Today is my sons' Birthday!! He's 7 years old today!! My gramma and mom bought him cupcakes yesterday to take to school today (good thing cause I wouldnt have been able to cook him any LOL) so Happy Birthday to him!!

what an ordeal! For your surround sound, couldn't you just call up CS and speak to one of them and see if they have any suggestions w/o having someone come back out? GL :)

Happy Happy birthday to your son! :D

I've turned it on a couple of times today and its not popping quite as much, and it doesnt sound as funny. Im thinking about having DH unhook the wires and hook them back up. I dunno, im not real worried about it, its the 40 dollar system from Walmart, and it was only a temp one until we can afford a better one.

Day is going much better though, thanx everyone for the well wishes!

Make sure you don't have any wires touching where they go into the spreakers and make they are plugged in all the way.
