what gets me is they mostly theywill use others ss#someout thereis using my deceased dads number also my nieces ss# is being use by several people .i think something should be done but nothing will . also in texas peoplein mexico get benifits for ss and food stamps by have a po box accross the border in brownsville just as long as they have a us address.i think its bs..

well I hope they are able to track who are using the numbers. I always thought somehow they would get my dads but if they do it will raise flags everywhere I think with my mom getting his VA pension and things

Yup, somebody was using my husband's deceased for 30 years SSN and a year ago we found out that somebody in Cali was using his. Come to find out one of his dad's putas sold them!

they are probably getting them from the social security death index online it shows the persons name what state they issued the card, and the ss # and I think where they died so its possible that they got it from there. but you would think more places would run these numbers to see who they belong to.

My hubby is still alive and an Inez in Las Vagas nevada is using his SS#. Funny thing though, it was a background check that found out and hubby had to prove the number was his. When we called social security about it they said there was nothing they could do. Yet Inez who works for a hotel in vegas, quarters of work does not show up on hubbys statement. So social security can manage to keep who works where in order but cannot do anything about them using numbers that were not issued to them. Go figure.

Any illegal immigrant caught using a stolen SS number should be deported immediately. Last I heard, identity theft was a crime, but I guess that only applies to legal citizens of the U.S. Illegals constantly get to use their "get out of jail free" card, and at our expense.

If an illegal steals my SS number to get a job, how will that impact my retirement benefits? Will that person get to draw on my SS when they retire? Benefits cannot be paid to two different people under one SS number, so who gets to collect? This isn't an issue in this country right now, but it will be in 30 or so years.
