View Full Version : How Long...

....can a person go without sleep before they snap or have a complete meltdown? I swear, I am so damn tired it's not funny. I wake up every 45-120minutes EVERY night. I haven't had a dream in a couple of months and I'm pretty sure it's because I don't sleep long enough to actually enter REM sleep. My back kills, my groin kills, no matter what "side" I sleep on, it always ends up falling asleep or aching so I have to turn to the other side...in turn, waking me up. Then, of course, there's having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. If I'm up for more than just a few minutes, I'm wide awake...and it takes me more than an hour to get back to sleep IF I can get back to sleep at all.

I swear, if someone doesn't get this baby out of me, I'm going to go insane! It wasn't this bad with either of my previous pregnancies.... :(

Yikes! Have you thought about sleeping out in the living room, on the couch or sofa chair or something like that. Maybe just a change is what you need.

Oh girl I got like that too with my 3rd. I couldn't get comfortable long enough to sleep much. I had pains in my legs and back. It was bad. I know how you feel and I'm so sorry. It will all be over soon. :hug

Have they stripped your membranes or anything? They done mine with my second pregnancy and didn't help at all but with my third it did. They done it that morning and that night I went into labor. Well I thought he done it because I was miserable and crying and just so ready to get it all over with... when I arrived at the hospital that night they were booked with his patients! He done several of us that way, that day. They actually put me in a storage room for a few hours because all the L&D rooms were full!! So that meant I had to wait a few hours to get my epidural and all that but it was still so worth it. lol He was going out of town and wanted to try to get his due patients out the way I guess, in case we went into labor while he was gone.

Send you good luck labor vibes!! lol

Yep. I had one on Friday. I had one with Avery and it didnt' work and when I went in for another one, the OB broke my water. Needless to say, it hasn't happened this time, but I have lost a lot of MP (forgive the abbreviation, but I don't want it to be TMI).

Today is the last day for a week that my OB is going to be around since she's going on vacation for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, if I don't have this baby today, I have to have an OB I've never even MET before (on Monday or Tuesday) and if I go on Weds-Saturday, I have to have one of two OB's I don't care for (ok, one of them I absolutely despise).

We're going on a walk in a little while...perhaps that will help...

I've never been PG so I have no idea what you must be going through, but I hope it's all over soon, when is the baby due? Have you told the Dr about your problems?
Sending good thoughts.

Yeah, I've told just about everyone in the Dr's office, too, but it's not helping. It's kind of crazy in this day and age where you can schedule your own c-section, but if you want to have a baby naturally and you're considered full-term (38 or more weeks), you can have no say in it! So frustrating!

I really feel for you. I was not pregnant for a full nine months with my kids. But I could not sleep for anything. I was going to say what Army-Mom said about the pillow. I have heard if you sleep on your right side it is better. Something about your heart being on the left side. I don't remember why....

Someone told me once they ate Taco Bell and went into labor w/ each of their kids!

I don't know how you feel about having sex this late in your pregnancy, but that could get things moving. Just some suggestions, even though you probably heard them all before.

Hope the little one gets the hint soon and comes out!

I had that problem when I was pregnant with my oldest, my dr. ended up giving me some sleeping pills so I could sleep, and I went a month over-due and they did nothing about it, but that was military drs...

Oh,honey I really feel for you. All I can say is if you want to speed things up, walk, walk, walk. I was due 11/24, son was born 12/18, and I was miserable. About the sleeping, a doctor told me if you lay in bed more than 15 minutes, you are not going to sleep, so get back up. I wake up every hour on the hour almost with hot flashes, so I would also be very interested in others tips on staying asleep!

:hug all right, where are the tongs? someone pull that baby out ;) LOL j/k I really hope this baby comes soon, I can't imagine how awful that is for you, I'd know no one would be around me if I wasn't able to sleep even one day I couldn't imagine days/weeks/months, etc.

Of course they will!!

I will, however, get a little reprieve tomorrow afternoon. My MIL is taking Avery with her to pick up my SIL from the airport (she's flying in from FL) and then they'll all shop together for the afternoon and a friend of mine is taking Aiden and I'm going to come home and REST! :D

I had 2 kids who were both late my son 9 days my daughter over 2 weeks had natural childbirth with them and fastfood put me into labor with my son(lost my MP that am) it was wendys and I got sick all over the place went back to the hopital they said i was in labor but not enough so they sent me home and a few hrs later had to go back got to the hospital at midnight and had my son 3:11 that morning my daughter I ate mcdonalds with(they were going to induce labor so they told me to eat before I came in) I was already in labor(but not progressive enough but they broke my water at 8pm during the night they had to give me pitocin(to speed up the contractions) which that in itself was a plain out bitch made labor pains and contractions 10x worse I finally had her at noon the next day they almost had to do an emergency c section but didnt cause her cord was wrapped around her neck.
I dont remember ever having a hard time to sleep tho but I was always had energy when pregnant now I have none.just make sure you dont leak too much especially the water from the sack my mom had this happen and my sister was a dry birth and they had to use forceps and to this day my sister has problems I think partly caused by that.but hope you have the baby soon and congrats

Davesbabydoll, what handsome boys you have, which one is yours by birth? Looks like they are brothers by choice, if not by blood.
