Cause I am ready to toss mine right out the door lol
Just so you know if you take him he comes with clothes but will tell you that none of them fit right so he will have to wear shorts to school on a freaking 30 degree day like today even though he just got new clothes about a month ago and he picked them out they are still just all wrong. Oh and he likes to fight with you on EVERYTHING and why shouldnt he I mean he is 12 so he does know it all........gosh it sure has been a long week :(

Will take the 3 preteens in trade for a 17 year old drama queen-but you have to take her NOW! It's "THAT" time of the month/lol. Her brother hasn't come out of his room for 2 days he's so scared/lol.

lol Speaking as a mother of a 21 year old boy and a 26 year old girl, yes you will survive. I know you have your doubts. Now I am a granny, and it's true what they say. Grandkids are great. Spoil them and send them home. We are number one with the grandkids. And yes, everything your kids do to you, they will get in return. And you can't help but say, " Yep. That's just way you did . Pay back honey." I don't wish my children bad, they just seem to understand so much more now that they are parents. Yes, these times shall pass. Thats why I always loved to watch Bill Cosby. He always seemed to put a light on these situations and make you laugh. Some people say their kids do no wrong. Don't believe them. Good luck

hhehe they act like that way mom because you allow them to act that way. Put your foot (or feet) down and tell him to knock it off or you will start taking eveything away from him starting with the thing he loves most (whatever that may be)
When DS starts with me, I threaten to take the car away, he stops immediately...lol especially when I made him go out to Home Depot to make me a set of his keys. :rules

I'll trade a soon to be 16 year old that's learning to drive and hangs out in his room most of the time and a just turned 13 year old with ADHD that knows it all. They love to fight, sometimes makes for great entertainment.

I'll take the 12 year old boy, if you potty train my 2 1/2 year old boy. Then I want him back.
I suck at potty training. My DD was potty trained by her babysitter.

Give up the battle princess, you won't win it. Let him dress as ignorant as he wants too. Just tell everyone that you know that he won't listen to you.
My son started wearing boots (the kind that look like work boots) when he was about 7 or 8. I never could get him to wear anything other than boots. He is 20 now and still only wears boots.
I would buy him tons of cute, stylish clothes and he wouldn't wear them. Even if he picked them out!
He would pick out some tshirt that was covered in holes and stains and wear it instead. I was so ashamed of him doing that. I told hubby that people probably think we go to the city dump to find his clothes.
I would buy really neat coats, stuff like NFL coats, and he wouldn't wear them...had to be carrhart. Those are the ugliest coats known to man in my opinion.
God forbid if he left the house without a cap on! Use to drive me freaking nuts! Because he has the most beautiful head of hair I ever seen. I would kill for his hair. It was always a pretty blonde, straight & smooth, but thick and had enough body it would do anything. Stay anyway you brushed it. But oh hell no, he wouldn't grow it out over a quarter inch after he got big enough to pick out what he wanted. It was only long once and that was because I refused to take him to the barbershop. But he wouldn't go without a cap if his life depended on it. So he might as well not even have hair.
I fought him tooth and toe nail for years about that type of thing....I've even thrown away his ratty looking shirts so he wouldn't wear them anymore. He just comes up with more of them somehow....so I finally gave up when he was about 17....it's not worth the battle....you won't win!...;)

okay but just so you know she sleeps 2 hrs then gets up for an hour. All night. Oh, and she won't go to bed until everyone but me goes to bed. Also I'll trade you straight up my 13 yr.old boy for your 12 yr. old. Right now his favorite pasttime is to annoy everyone in the house until they are ready to strangle him and then give the "Who me?" look.

I never concerned my self with how my kids looked as long as they were clean and the clothes were clean. If you have not noticed, stained, holey clothes are so in. Or al least they were recently. My kids got what I could afford. If they did not like it, then dont wear it but that is what you get. The only time I was stunned was when my one son would wear his pajama pants to school, but that was in then. I also never cared what others thought either. I'll worry what they think when they pay my bills, put food on my table, clean my house and are responsible for my and my familys actions. This attitude has worked for me as my children have also adopted it so they could care what others think. As a result they dont care if they are nerdy because they are into school activities and are smart. They dont care if others think they are uncool because they choose not to smoke, drink, do drugs and are waiting til they are ready to have sex because they think they are too precious for such things. GOOD FOR THEM. So Mom, instead of worrying about what he wears, be thankful you are not worriing about his drinking, drug and sexual escapades.
I'd take him, but I am finding that I like the freedoms that come when you have older kids you can trust. But I would be willing for lets say 8 years and younger. My heart just melts when I see these little ones at the stores. I am so looking forward to being a Gram Ma Ma.

As you can see it's 2:00 a.m. and I just got her to bed. Been trying since 11. We watched a movie and then tried the computer. She fell asleep about 1/2 hr ago.
And I do get cranky. Very cranky sometimes when it starts to catch up with me.
I sleep when she sleeps. When the 13 yr old gets home from school he takes her for a couple hrs so I can nap. And, on his days off, dh lets me sleep until I wake up. Sometimes 12 hrs. God forbid that 4 kids make any noise during that time. He's got them trained that when he's home and I'm sleeping no noise whatsoever.
So, still want to trade? LOL

How did you get my son at your house? I'm telling you I get the exact same thing from my 12 year old. Sometimes knowing others go through doesn't really help the frustration level though, does it? :hmpf:
Another thing he says is that he can't change back into jeans after gym. It seems to just take too darn long to get those shoes off to do it and make it to the next class. He's been informed that he'd better come home in pants or he is grounded. I guess we'll see how long that takes.

hblueeyes sounds like you have raised some great kids :) and yeah I am pretty lucky my kids havent fallen into the bad kid scene or anything........ the only problem I had with him not wearing those pants and wearing shoe instead is because if was below freezing that day and it was just 2 wks ago the silly boy had to miss 1/2 a week of school for being sick......maybe he liked staying home withe me lol
ssgjeg well I tihnk I would have to trade your whole family......the idea of someone actually helping you get some sleep that a great family you have there. It is wonderful when families pick in like that :) You know I did have alot of trouble with my 2 yr old and sleep and eventually I just got to the point I let him run and run and run all day until he would pass out and that works for now BUT with the temps going down and not getting outside as much we might be back in your boat soon lol
kelblend I swear it makes ya wonder where they get these hard headed stubborn ideas from I mean we know none of them get it from us lol
