When i got this pix of these brats taking down "MY" flag and disgracing it i was apalled!!!! I have been quiet long enough. And while i'm on the topic here is another thing. Obama is running commericals here in iowa about soc. sec and about there being 78 million baby boomers going to being on it soon and so there will be more going on than coming in. Then stop paying the damn illegals living here!!!:getyou

During the debate Obama said he was for illegals having state issued drivers licenses. Say what you will about the republican party, Bush is not a good example, but the Dems want to give away the store while were are taxes out of our homes and into poverty of which we will not qualify for any assistance because the system will be broke from giving everything away to foreigners, legal and illega alike.

Wonder why all these foreigner own gas stations and mini marts? it is because they qualify for no or low interest programs that we pay for but are not eligible to take advantage of. Remember that come election day. Vote out all incumbants, even if you think they are good, they have helped create this problem and vote in new, fresh, everyday folk.

I'm a Democrat, and the political party's stance on illegal immigration is where we part ways. However, whether or not we give immigrants driver's licenses is secondary to the really big problem. I do think that giving them driver's education and having some way to identify them is not necessarily a bad thing regarding public safety IF we are not going to do anything about them being here in the first place. Would I rather the government know who they are and where they are as opposed to having no record of them? Of course. Most immigrant rights groups are opposing the licensing plan because by restricting their use to only driving, it is making it easy to know exactly who is here illegally. Most illegals probably won't make use of it for that very reason. Yes, we could deny them licenses to drive but the problem is that THEY ARE STILL HERE. And they are going to BE here unless we start severely punishing the companies that employ them, change the laws so that there are no more "anchor babies", and make a concentrated effort to strengthen our border security. I'm all for immigration done the legal way, because doing it the legal way at least requires some semblance of respect for our country.

And I don't think Republicans are much better, because they refuse to significantly penalize the big companies for hiring illegals. They have a tough view towards immigration, but basically leave the companies to police themselves. Greed wins over doing the right thing every time. Some big business associations sided with the AFL-CIO and the ACLU in winning the petition to temporarily block the implementation of the law requiring businesses to verify the SSN of their employees, citing possible workplace disruptions or plant closings. You would think that a reputable company would want to make sure they are hiring the right people.....

I do not affilate with any party. I vote for whom i feel is a better person that year etc. And right now i am not sure. I did NOT vote for bush. I think he is awful and should have been/or should be impeached for all the crap he has pulled.

My opinion is that since the federal Government has failed to act of this growing problem in this country, I believe each city shoudl be allowed to enact it's own immigration policies.
The city where I am from tried to do just that & ended up getting sued. My question is where did these illegal aliens get the $$$ to hire lawyers in the first place.

:creep: :backaway Honest I can't help that I am from Illinois. Obama-our Gov now- well our former Gov. is going to Federal Prison. I think we are the melting pot for confused politicians and some down right crooked ones. I use the word confused loosely. I find very few of Illinois politicians just do not seem to be on the same track as what the people of Illinois want. The Gov. we have now has such fantastic ideas, that he about has the state broke and if he does not get his way on things he wants, he throws a pout and will not meet with the legislators nor will he read any messages they send to him. Where do they find all these strange people that run for political office???

I too am from Illinois and am about as fed up as I can be with the politicans from here. I find it amazing that Obama a first federal termer is being backed by the most powerful for the office of president. I think it is because he can be manipulated by them. I also remember that Gov. B got in with the help of his father in law. Then once in office he turned on him and did as he pleased. This is something I think works in his favor but we cannot afford him. Then we have Lipinski whos father held office for many terms. Got voted back in and 1 day after being sworn in, retired and gave his seat to his son. We need more people like us running for office. The problem is money for most of us. We know how to live within our means. We know what the citizens need, want and are willing to do to make it work for all but who has the money to run. Even running for local or county government can cost over $1 million. Who has that kind of money? We need to stop the insanity.

I too vote for the man and not the party. However most politicans do vote along party lines or what about the fact that in Cook (Crook) County, republicans run as democrats because it is extremely hard and at times dangerous to do otherwise. The Cook County machine is a triangle of crooked cops, crooked politicans and the "outfit". Hard for an honest, moral citizen to break through.

I say lets vote out all incumbants. They had their chance and have not done enough to get their collegues to do right. New, fresh and inexperienced cannot do any worse.
