need help fast

hi everyone I need some help Im not asking for money or anything just info for family members in NY state. my cousin and her two youngest daughters are staying with another one of her daughters and her 4 kids. the 11 year old has cancer. what happened was my cousin(the one with 4 kids) her fiance was murdered a few months ago and so her mom and 2 sisters moved in with her to help her take care of the kids(she works) anyway the house they were renting the guy had it in foreclosure and didnt tell them so they have to be out by the 4th of november they right now dont have water or heat(I dont know if its due to the landlord or what) but my cousin has written to the mayor and a few other people for help and they even went to child welfare for help and no one will help them not even their family which there are over probably 50 family members(my aunt had 24 kids- they were all hers none adopted) what I need is any links or info about any state help,agencies that will help them find somewhere to live, etc especially since the one child has cancer. she has went to the newspapers and they wont help her and wont take her story.is there anyone in the new york state area( rome and vicinity) who can get me info on where they can go for emergency help? I would appreciate it as I have never lived there and dont know where to get help for them.(my family is from the rome area(mom,dad,etc) they are having a rough year and any info would be helpful.

I dont live there, but, has she tried local churches, or the Salvation Army?

Ive told her to try that not sure if she has yet or not but she said most places wont help or recommend anywhere else to help which at least here in wv they will refer you to places and tell you to check certain places. there are 8 of them living in the same house so I know that will be hard to find them somewhere but even if they split them up(my cousin and her 2 kids) and her daughter and 4 kids)

where about in NY state - there are alot of different charities that help out too -
Catholic Charities
Theres a place called "The Vera House" - thats in Syracuse area
and the Salvation Army (which was mentioned already)

I will see if I can find anything else in that area.
