Especially around the holidays, I know ALOT of people have questions about Mp3 players, DVD players HDTV's (Plasma or LCD etc) What are the best options for AV receivers etc etc.

I used to be a home theater specialist (commissioned salesman) at a major electronics retailer, and I will monitor this thread periodically and try to answer any questions you guys may have.

there are MANY AV tech sites, but they arent usually very friendly to people asking NOOB questions.

I not only have experience from the sales standpoint, but I do have a complete Home theatre with an HDTV and DirecTv HD DVR, Upconverting DVD player, gaming systems, A/V Receiver with full surround sound 5.1 etc.

my focus has ALWAYS been on getting the MOST I can for my families money.

have any suggestions on which Canon is the best?

I have narrowed it down to the following:

A540, A560, A570, A630

I use this site for reviews: http://www.imaging-resource.com/

I am interested in these cameras because they all use AA batteries, they seem to take really good pics for a reasonable price and have a lot of functions not found at this price range such as a view finder...

thanks for any help,
frank

I would DEFINITELY choose the A570IS it can be had for around $160 after tax and shipping at Amazon and has Image stabilization!! very nice feature at this price! I do alot of indoor shooting in LESS than optimal conditions (concerts etc) Stabilization helps MORE of your shots come out.

The other site removed my informational post on Sony due to user complaints, so now you can view it here!!!

You are to kind, I am what I would call a techno geek afficianado.

I am a bit of a renaissanceman, I know a great deal about a great many subjects, alas...

I am master of NONE of them.
