View Full Version : back surgery advice???
Will, on November 5, I have to have back surgery. Remeber my thigh pain?? It was cause of my back. If it continues, I will have a problem with incotinence. They are gonna fuse it and put in a spacer thing. I can't remeber the name of what they are putting in there. He said I will really hurt after the surgery. Has anyone had this done?? Any advice???

I don't know anyone who's had it done but I wanted to say good luck. I hope everything goes well and that you won't be away for too long. I will miss your emails.
They say I'll be in the hospital a day or two. Then I'll probably be on the computor all the time. I'm an active person, so I really dread the boredom. I figure the computor can keep me entertained some. I'm gonna get a wireless keyboard so I can put in on my lap and at least have something to do

My husband had thigh pain with incontinence and had surgery. I don't know if it is what you are having or not. Infact he had to have 2 surgeries because the first one wasn't successful but he is great now. He was told to expect pain but he didn't have much. He has never taken much pain medicine so the pain med really knocked him out. That was about a yr ago now. He had to wear a back brace for 6 weeks after the second surgery. Good luck!

Lymi, did they tell you if it was related to a pinched nerve? There's a really big nerve called the sciatic nerve and when that gets impinged, it causes pain down the leg like none other. Have you seen a chiropractor about it? The people that I know who have had back surgery, more people have problems from it than not. I'm not meaning to be a downer, sorry if it sounds that way, that's not my intention at all.

It's not the sciatic nerve. That one goes down the back of the leg. No, he showed me on the mri , how smashed the nerves are. Thanks for the news though. Any help is greatly appreciated
