I predict this holiday will be removed from the calendars in our lifetime. Not only did he not "discover" America (MANY other explorers landed in America before he did), but when he got here, he took the Natives on as slaves and him and his followers looted, tortured, raped, maimed and killed them. He is one of the worst people in history and it is horribly ironic that we have a holiday honoring him, and honoring for something that he didn't even do.
