I haven't seen Christmas stuff yet - just Halloween stuff - and that I started seeing about 3 weeks ago! But its hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner.

I went to a store while in Memphis that had a ton of Christmas stuff out already

The one that gets me is how they skip over Thanksgiving because that is my favorite holiday

Have only seen some at Craft store (but just a little) I figure they have an excuse b/c you might need to get started now if you haven't yet.

I think I've seen some at the Big Lots store. I've also already gotten my first Christmas catalog already.

no christmas but there is halloween stuff we went to the cracker barrel about a month ago and they had the halloween stuff out and yesterday target had some of theirs, its hard to believe that we have to already start thinking about that holiday, its like 110 out for goodness sakes, and halloween is usually kinda cold here.

I really miss the time when we celebrated one holiday at a time. It is so commercialized that the stores seem to run the holidays together. I think each should be enjoyed at it's time, THEN go on to the next.

I really hate to say this but by Christmas I am soooo tired of seeing the stuff, hearing the Mrs. Claus and Mr. Claus yacking and the Christmas carols, that I will not turn on the radio at home or watch any Christmas shows. Last year at WalMart they had a big Santa there at the door yacking as you walked in. I used to have to walk in another door so I would not be arrested for beating on it. I really liked it much better when Halloween was in October and celebrated then, the same for Thanksgiving (think they have forgotten that one, try to get some kitchen towels to put out for Thanksgiving-none in sight) and then there is Christmas, which if I still remember correctly is in December. So I should be able to enjoy all of the smells and sounds in December not July or August. I am really surprised that most stores just don't leave it out year round. I have to agree with lymi, let's do one at a time.
I think I just went on a rant, sometimes things like this make me do it or something. Anyhow this is my opinion only. One more thing, don't you love it that kids tell you what they would like in October for Christmas and by Christmas they do not want any of the stuff they told you back in October, it is all new and different stuff they want. Oh Bah Humbug!!!

That was sooo funny. And isnt so sad, that Christmas is so built up, then it is over so fast. My mother in law says she likes Thanksgiving better. Because everyone sits and eats and visits. At Christmas, everyone is in a hurry to open presents and they wolf down the meal in a hurry. Remeber when we were young and were very grateful to get just a few presents. Now if you don't spend big bucks and buy a ton of stuff, you are a scrooge. The meaning has been totally lost. Kids rip into their gift, and start looking for the next one. I always thought it was more fun to watch others open what I got for them. Ok, now I am rattling on

I am cutting way back on Christmas this year. It will be a shock to my family because I say it every year but this yr I am. Last year was just too much. I suggested this year we just buy for angels off a tree but everyone said but we have to get you and Daddy presents so I said ok one present each. That is what I am going to do. I have bought a few things already. I want to get those things wrapped soon and then wrap as I buy and be done. I don't like the Christmas season and I think it is because of all the shopping and work.
My favorite holiday is Easter. Spring is coming. The flowers are coming up , even the grass looks new. It also reminds me of my dad who used to love hiding easter eggs even after most of us were grown.
