what is meant by hot loading a medical emt helicopter? I have a class on this this week and am curious what it is.........

I just asked my husband, he's an emt/former fire chief. He said its when its such an emergency, they like scoop and run.. They load the patient with the blades still running on the helicopter.

I know Im not Katt or her husband, sorry. But I hope you dont mind that I answered.

Yes, that's what it is, they keep the rotors going and the EMT's will keep bagging etc as the patient is loaded.

What they said. Just means they are hauling butt to get the pt loaded and then take off.
