I'm just very very sad :(

Last night about 6pm someone hit and killed my 1 yr old dog, Max. Still not sure why he wasn't at the pond with the other 2 dogs or what he was doing in the road in the first place because he was always the one to stay out of harm's way, at least until last night :(

Im so sorry,Princess.......I have never learned how to deal well with losing little 4 legged members of my family, it tears my heart apart and can imagine the pain you are in. Wish I could give you a big hug but the best I can do is tell you that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

thanx for all the wonderful thoughts everyone it really does mean alot to know that others feel about their pets as members of the family and not just an animal. We have lots of animals on the farm of course but in 10 yrs I have seriously emotionally gotten close to 2, Precious was killed by neighbors across the road and Max was the one that came after her (I just knew it the moment I laid eyes on him that Precious wanted me to have him). I still love ALL my other pets but Precious and Max were just so special in my heart I can't even put into words. It just feels like I lost one of my babies :( I did get away from the house all day and that made it better at least till I came home I guess time will heal along with all the nice thoughts from you all :) My kids are pretty upset especially Lexie (my 3 yr old) since she was with me when he passed away. I just couldn't leave him there alone and she wouldn't leave me so although very sad it was a bonding moment for us as well in a weird sort of way.

I do know that one day whether it be tomorrow or 10 yrs from now Precious and Max will guide me to another one to love and spoil for as long as I am meant to have him or her. I told my hubby I wouldn't NOT have another one after all although it hurts so bad right now I wouldn't have traded a second that I was able to share with Max while he was here.
