Well, I guess I would be considered Non-denominational Christian. I'm Christian, but celebrate nature too. (not 'worship it' ) So our family does some Native American and Pagan rituals to celebrate nature, the changing of the seasons, and the earth.

I believe in science also. Religion and science don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Do you find it hard to think when you die, you just die. I find that so sad, I hope that there is a heaven, there are so many people I hope to see again. If you believe in nothing, do you have a funeral? I assume you have no mass- Please dont take this the wrong way, I'm just curious- What do you say to someone who has lost someone? This isn't just directed to you but anyone who wrote- "nothing".

Val1

I'm Catholic.

Aussiegirl, I'm just guessing here but I'd wager that an atheist would say many of the same things the rest of us say when someone passes - "I'm sorry for your loss" or "He or she was a wonderful person, how lucky you were to have them in your life" or "They'll live on in your memories." Just no mention of an afterlife per se.

Yea, I guess thats probably what they say, I usually say "they are in a better place now" because I want to believe that.

My ex was an athist and he always said the things Val1 posted. He does want a memorial service when he passes, just not a religous one. A time for friends and family to say their goodbyes.

I've come to that conclusion, and it doesn't bother me. I haven't ever thought about my own funeral actually, I don't care what my family does with me when I'm gone. And I say the normal things, "I'm sorry (for your loss)."
