Well they can take it outside as far as I am concerned. Too many of my relatives have died from smoking and second hand smoke. Not a pleasant death either.

I told Kevin yesterday that people shouldn't be allowed to smoke outside near the entry ways of buildings. I hate having to walk by someone who is smoking every time I go into a building. Why do people have to stand right in front of the door and do it? Can't they walk a few feet away. I guess us ex-smokers are the worst when it comes to that. LOL

I agree with you Patch! I hate when I go places with my grandma (who is on oxygen) and have to walk right through plumes of smoke. The people smoking usually have this nasty attitude about it too. Im glad I quit :smokin:

I don't like walking into a building either when there are a bunch of ppl outside smoking. If I wanted to smoke I wouldn't have quit and now I have to inhale their crap as I walk into wherever.

As a smoker myself...
A smoker who has any sort of manners wouldn't smoke in a crowd of people who are not smoking (unless they are in a club or something). There is ALWAYS some place you can go to where no one else is standing to smoke a cig. Its just being respectful of others.
If there is no where for me to smoke, then I don't smoke.... I might rip someone's head off while waiting, but I won't smoke ;)

I smoke too but i would never stand by the door where ppl are coming and going. I will go stand some where else & smoke. A few years ago we had gone to the zoo and sat down to have some thing to eat & when i wanted a cig i got up and started walking away. My friend asked what i was doing, i said i wont smoke by kids plus they are eating. She said i was crazy, & yes she has two kids. I dont like when ppl light up when im eating i wont do it to any one else.

Exactly! .. When I did smoke I was always polite to other ppl around me .. smokers or non-smokers.

Just wanted to add that I am a smoker and very aware of others around me when I smoke. I rarely smoke in situations where others who don't smoke might be offended, I wouldn't like it if I wasn't a smoker and had to be forced to breathe others pollutants. (I am going to quit soon)
But all I ask in return is that you refrain from talking loud on your cell phone, beating or swearing at your kids in public places, and stop letting your thong hang out, really, thats just gross. LOL
But, on the other hand, smoking is hard to quit doing, and some just aren't going to quit, period. I personally think there needs to be more service messages about drunk driving, sex offenders, and drug prevention than smoking. I know it's not good, it's not right or natural, but I am sick of being made to feel like a criminal because I am a smoker....

It's a law here in Washington State and I love it! I am allergic to cigarette smoke and we've always had to find non-smoking restraunts to eat at. Now they are all non-smoking, even bars, clubs, etc. They also teach the kids in school that parents should be smoking outside not inside with children in the house.

What she said. Not to mention walking through that sh!t means you are going to smell like it ALL DAY LONG and it makes me nauseous. Can I throw up on a smoker? And, yes-I'm an ex-smoker:elefant:
