Read this. This is from Local 12, our CBS affliate.


Cincinnati Police will hold a news conference at 10 this morning to release new details in the shooting of a man who allegedly stole ice cream.


Police fired on 26 years old Qayyim Moore in a shootout Sunday afternoon. Police Chief Tom Streicher says an officer was investigating a theft at United Dairy Farmers on Queen City Avenue in South Fairmount before the shooting. Chief Streicher says Moore then returned to the store to get a spoon for the ice cream he had allegedly taken. Moore took off when officers approached him.

Witnesses say Moore did fire on the officers while running down the street. Officers returned fire, killing the man. Witnesses tell Local 12 the suspect fired at police first. Officers were not hit but one suffered scrapes diving from the bullets.

Police say Moore's last known address was on Prosperity Lane but they believe he was homeless.

You are right that was really stupid of him to fire at officers.

And realllly stupid of him to go back to the place where he committed the theft so he could get a spoon! :)

that ain't stupid. did you not read the part where it said quote "Witnesses say Moore did fire on the officers while running down the street. Officers returned fire"Quote???

ya don't shoot at police officers and get a kiss.

That is what I thought was so over the top stupid.

I believe thats is what the OP is saying... the guy that stole the ice cream was stupid for firing at the officers (first) they were just firing back. And he was also stupid for going back for a spoon.

Yes it is stupid, but how much sadder than stupid!!!!!!!! Homeless people frequently are schizophrenic or mentally ill in one way or another. It is just sad to me. I don't feel the police had a choice.

Um Ok I don't understand your post. I meant He - the Criminal - was Stupid to shoot at Police Officers. And yes you will not get a kiss from shooting at a police officer. I know quite a lot of police officers/deputy sheriffs and have never had any of them tell me that they kissed a criminal that was shooting at them. I guess you misunderstood what I was posting I guess I should have included more than "shooting at a police officer is stupid".
