For Fathers Day in 2005 we bought my hubby the TV he wanted - its a flat screen 32 inch Panasonic TV - well its not even 2 years old yet - and last Friday night the thing bit the dust - I paid over 600 bucks for it - and I can't believe it doesn't work already - I emailed Panasonic - thats really no help - their web site and the Owners manual is no help at all - and the closest place to get it looked at is 40 miles away and it will cost 130.00 bucks just for them to look at -
any suggestions - I am so mad right now - how can a TV that is less than 2 years old bite the dust so quickly - I emailed Panasonic and told them how upset I was - like they care! -
but was just wondering does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do - has anyone else ever had this happen to them.

Maybe you should write a letter at planetfeedback. I've heard people get results from companies when they do that because the people who read stuff there actually take things to heart.
I've heard of VCR's and such biting the dust so quickly after purchase but a TV?? Thats outragious. I would totally lose any confidence in their newer products. I've heard something in the "grapevine" about certain TV's are going to be not working when the companies switch to "digital" or something like that (I think in the next couple of years) and thats why TV's are so cheap right now. Like I said, its just something i've heard but I would hold off on buying a big expensive TV for now, perhaps just a cheapy from walmart or something for now.

I have a neighbor who's TV quit working the other day and she took it in and he had to adjust the "whiting" and it only cost her 60 bucks total. It might be worth taking in somewhere and having it checked out before you call it quits. Please keep us informed, Im curious how Panasonic will handle this.

I thought about writing a letter on Planet Feedback - but wanted some input first - thanks

We had the same thing happen to our Panasonic. It sounds like it is the exact same tv that you have. I didn't try to do anything through the company because our warranty had expired. We had it repaired in a local shop. Believe it or not when we bought it the sales person told us that newer tvs only last a few years. I think he said 4. I hope that you can get some results through the company. Good luck!
