View Full Version : I don't understand My Points LOL

I have always had to email them for not giving me points. Lots of emails. The emails they send me in my mailbox are credited ok but if I do a survey or sign up for a newsletter or anything extra in the email those pts. do not show up.
So I click through on my account, which is great incidentally, glad they added that handy feature, and tell them about it. Those 10 and 25, etc, pts add up so I contact them about the ones I don't get.
Well I told them they didn't credit me the pts. for signing up for a newsletter for 10 pts. They came back with an email saying they credited me 500 pts. for completing a purchase. I emailed them back saying WOOOH, it's just for 10 pts not 500 and they emailed back telling me they HAVE GIVEN ME 500 PTS ALREADY. LOL, I have to contact them so much for the little 10 pointers and then they give me 500 pts when I say it's not worth that much, they don't listen.
Go figure. LOL   :D

I ALWAYS keep my confirmation email when I order something thru mypoints, because 9 times out of 10 I have to email them and tell them my account hasn't been credited.

I keep all their emails sent to me in a seperate folder in my yahoo email account. I also write down on a sheet all email offers or other offers I took up and the date and whether or not I received a confirmation email or merely a click thru and then at 30 days I always check my account statement and use the contact click thru for everyone I didnt get points credited to account. They almost never post for any of those 50 point surveys be it for the 50 for completion of survey or just the 10 points and they never post for many other offer such as registrations and things like that. I find this system works well but its a pain in ass if you ask me. I stopped using them for most purchases long ago since they arent really worth it for most items and merely use them now for the emails and free offers and I still earn a giftcard about 4 times a year

GREAT that it worked in YOUR favor for a change. I have TOTALLY given up on TRYING to get those points from sign-ups, etc. I used to email and email and email and email and THEY NEVER answered me..AND IT WOULD TAKE FOREVER to PROVE that we clicked, saving all the emails and copying and pasting them TO PROVE they owed us points. AND NOT to ever get a reply besides the automated ones? AND I NO LONGER shop through MyPoints, they NEVER credit my shopping points! THIS USED TO BE A GREAT PLACE..NOT anymore! Just my humble opinion! :(

ITA! I collect Mypoints through the emails (takes awhile to add up, but that's alright), and I do my "real" shopping through Ebates which gives me cash back...and I've NEVER had a problem with Ebates crediting me the money I'm due.

I think MyPoints went downhill a long time ago. I've been doing all my purchasing through eBates, and ending up with quite a bit of cash from them.

They were down for maintainance last night.
It's a good and bad site. I ordered a computer and forgot to go through them. I was having trouble with their site so called them and when they got the problem fixed I said I had ordered a computer for 3,000 dollars and the guy gave me the pts. :)
It's the little piddling things that drive me nuts. The surveys, signing up for newlsletters, etc. I can send them the confirmation emails for the newsletters but I can't confirm I took a survey or answered a questionaire from their site. I don't have any letter or confirmation to send them. For crying out loud it's a survey from their site. The should know when we take them.
Those pts. run up fast---if they are credited to our account.
I get the required email back---it will take 30 days to confirm your purchase. I didn't make a purchase and I can't prove I did the questionaire. I usually get the pts. but have to work to get them.

That would be a pain to me to have to waste time fighting over the points. Ebates gives the credit to my account quickly. I've never had to email them about not crediting anything. Do you do Ebates?

No I don't. Guess I like to redeem pts for prizes. Kinda fun.
I had lots of those GC in my purse when I forgot my hubby's birthday this year so I had an out and spent most all of them on him. Whew. LOL Saved my butt. :D

I shop thru different programs. Mypoints isn't one of them. Creationsrewards is the top of my list and always use them as long as they have store I would be shopping from. If not then I use shopathomeselect which is like ebates. Cash back. They always credit. Creationsrewards is the fastest since you have to email them the confirmation email. I have never had any problems and they also have great cashout options including paypal and is the quickest reward program to give your reward. :)
janelle, it is great they gave you those many extra points. How do you prove you did a survey anyway? With those you really have no way to prove it and I do so many surveys for everywhere else, and after awhile I lose track who I did the survey for! At least with newsletter signups you get a confirmation email. Surveys you don't :(

F@tw@llet also has a shopping rewards program, similar to Ebates. In some instances (for example: VitaminShoppe.com), Ebates gives a better percentage rebate; or sometimes F@tw@llet offers some merchants that Ebates does not have. Usually, I try and combine with coupons (see the F@tw@llet "Hot Deals" forum, or:
[email protected]). Both F@tw@llet and Ebates offer their rewards payment via Paypal.

I keep a log of all the emails I click for the 5 pts. I put 5 and what the email was for. On the surveys I always record I did a survey for 10 or 25 or even sometimes 50 pts on that email and the date I did the survey. Then when it does not show up, I contact them through my account and tell them I didn't get credited for doing the survey. I say I did this survey on such and such a date. Usually they will answer me and say they have credited the pts to my account. Then I go to my account and they are there.
I do the same for newsletters but I have the confirmation email so they are easier to prove. I send them the confirmation email. Also when I buy anything I send the confirmation as soon as I get the email. They always say it will take 30 days to credit it to my account but I want them to get the confirmation before I forget.

Did you send them the confirmation email from eBay? That is what they want and also the pts won't credit until 30 days after you complete an offer.
I can see why. Lots of ordering and sending back for a refund. If they wait 30 days before giving the pts then sending something back is harder.
