Just from reading comments on here, it is apparent a lot of people belong to mypoints. I have belonged for years. I have a friend I sent an invitation to and he thinks mypoints invitation gave him a virus. I said impossible. His virus scan found bad things, but it could not have been mypoints. Has anyone ever had any kind of virus from them?

If they downloaded the mypoints toolbar or whatever they called it a virus scan will popup as it is spyware and overrides the cookies to mypoints if you order something from an outside link.....(its a snaeaky way for mypoints to get the sale credit)..... if they run something like spybot it should clear it up......kim

I've been a member of MyPoints since February 2000 and have never heard of any viruses associated with them. It's still one of my favorite points programs and one of the most reputable that I know of out there. It's possible your friend picked up a virus about the same time as the invitation, but has mistakenly blamed the MyPoints invitation. I'm certain any virus definitely did not come from MyPoints.

SHOCK! I received an email from MyPoints, like I usually do, member since 98, and chose to click on Lancome... and what happens a VIRUS!!!!!!! Norton got it!

According to Norton, the virus was at Lancome, and the link I clicked from MyPoints got me there and walla ... virus started. Really PO'd me.

So your brother can't really blame MyPoints directly.
