My Son lived with 2 dancers in Bakersfield before he moved here to Washington a few months ago. Eddie has a 3 mo old daughter and a beautiful wife. I heard the woman (she was the one who hired him and the bride to be) died today also.

A 24-year-old male dancer died of stab wounds Saturday after a fight broke out at a bachelorette party in Rosedale.

No arrests have been made and an investigation continues, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department.

The department reports that Edward Pedrosa, a dancer from Bakersfield, was performing at the house at 10813 Baron Ave. A bachelor party for the groom, whose identity has not been released, was being held elsewhere. But when he and his party learned of the male dancer, they came to the house and confronted him at around 12:30 a.m., according to the report. A fight broke out, and Pedrosa was fatally wounded.

Pedrosa and an unidentified woman, whose arms were cut on a broken window, were taken to Kern Medical Center. Pedrosa was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:17 a.m., the Sheriff’s Department reports.

Late Saturday morning, several neighbors were outside talking among themselves near the residence. Some were not willing to speak to The Californian, but those who did said they either knew very little about the incident or were not aware of the party at all.

An SUV adorned with streamers and a sign that said “bachelorette party” was parked in the driveway of the house. A couple of empty beer cans were lying in the yard, and a front window of the house was broken. What appeared to be a dry blood stain could be seen on the glass.

Just before he left for work Friday evening -- his last night on earth -- male dancer Edward Pedrosa gave his sweetheart a gold ring and asked her to marry him.

Shortly after midnight, the 24-year-old lay dying from stab wounds in a Rosedale driveway.

He had been performing as a stripper at a bachelorette party, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Department.

News of the male dancer's presence made its way to a party for the groom, also held Friday night. The groom and his guests apparently headed to the women's party at 10813 Baron Ave. to confront the dancer, deputies reported.

A fight broke out.

Pedrosa, a week past his June 3 birthday and father of a 3-month-old boy, was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:07 a.m., when an ambulance got him to Kern Medical Center.

His father, Martin Pedrosa, was also stabbed during the incident. The elder Pedrosa accompanied his son to all his jobs to provide security, family members said.

Brandon Weaver, who lived at the site of the party, was treated for a stab wound. Amber Adams, a nearby neighbor, was treated for cuts after she put her arms through a window.

A neighbor identified Weaver and Adams. Sheriff's deputies would not confirm their identities. They were listed in fair condition at Kern Medical Center Saturday evening.

Deputies arrested Nicholas Nobella, 25, Saturday morning on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, said sheriff's Cmdr. Kirk Foster. Nobella was at the downtown jail as of 10 p.m. Saturday, being held without bail.

Nobella pleaded guilty to a drunk driving charge in 2004, online court records show, and pleaded no contest to a drunken disorderly conduct charge in 2003.

No criminal or civil charges involving Pedrosa were found.

The bride for whom Pedrosa was dancing and her groom were not identified by press time.

A son

"They took somebody beautiful," said Pedrosa's mother, Maritza Pedrosa, at her southwest Bakersfield home Saturday evening.

Edward Pedrosa grew up in Delano. He wrestled for Delano High School. After graduation, he spent four years in the Navy, stationed in San Diego. He was a petty officer, his mother said.

After military service, he'd spent the past two years attending Bakersfield College -- and dancing.

Dancing was just a job, family members said, a way to pay for school. Pedrosa planned to be a probation officer. He wanted to help kids who needed a second chance, his mother said.

"He was handsome, good-looking," Maritza Pedrosa said. "Everybody loved him."

He was always dancing and smiling, something that made his shows popular, she said.

Word-of-mouth reviews led to a brisk business. He typically did numerous shows in a single night.

He didn't hang out with the women after shows, his mother said. He and his father would leave immediately for the next engagement.

Two business names are registered to Pedrosa, public records show: Guilty Konchious and Guilty Kontience Addikted.

Blow by blow

Martin Pedrosa, speaking by cell phone from his hospital bed at Kern Medical Center, said Friday night's party was the first time he and his son had run into trouble.

They had been inside the Rosedale home about 15 minutes when a man began to beat on a window in the back of the house.

Martin Pedrosa heard the alarm go off in his 1999 orange Chevrolet Tahoe parked out front. Through a window, he could see four or five men rocking the truck.

Pedrosa and his son ran outside.

"One guy told me and my son: 'Hey homey, you guys are on the wrong side of town. You need to get back on your side of the town,'" Pedrosa said.

The father and son said they would gather their things and leave.

But when Pedrosa turned to follow his son into the house, one of the men punched him in the head, he said. A brawl broke out.

He never saw the knife.

But Pedrosa heard someone shout: "He has a knife!"

The fighting stopped. Pedrosa saw his son lying on the ground.

"He was bleeding, and it was coming out like you wouldn't believe," he said.

A woman from a nearby home gave him a towel, he said. He pressed it against his son's chest.

Pedrosa didn't even notice he'd been stabbed until he got to the hospital. His liver was perforated during the incident, his wife said.

"He wasn't just my son, he was my best friend," Pedrosa said. "These guys took him away from me just because they didn't want their girlfriends to see a stripper."

The ring

The younger Pedrosa got engaged just before heading to work Friday evening.

"He asked me to marry him right before he left," said Lacey Wagner, mother of the couple's son, Alias Edward Pedrosa.

The gold engagement ring shone on her finger as she held the baby -- they call him Eddie -- at the southwest home where they lived with Pedrosa's parents.

Photos of Pedrosa in uniform stood perched on the fireplace mantle.

Eddie looks just like his father, Wagner said, brushing away tears.

"It was just a job to him," she said of her fiance's work. "He was a good father."

This just makes me so sick. I'm tired of people doing things like this and ruining so many lives.
I will never understand how/why someone would think it's ok to take another person's life.
