Boycott Evil Coke Products

Posted in Global Warming on June 1st, 2006 — John Farmer

Many reputable scientists insist the Earth is undergoing a period of global warming. Other scientists insist that this is due to our use of fossil fuels and their associated “greenhouse gas emissions” such as carbon dioxide (CO2).

In this country and around the world, zillions of pounds of CO2 are released daily into the atmosphere via our addiction to carbonated beverages (such as Coke). “The degree of carbonation varies for each soft drink formulation, from 4g/l in fruit drinks to 9g/l in mixer drinks and 12g/l in soda water. The CO2 gas content is one of the most important constituents determining the characteristics of the product.”

Since for the near term, fossil fuels are an absolute must for our energy needs, and Coke is just a little luxury item that evil capitalists enjoy, I recommend that we begin now to remove the carbonation from our soft drinks. For the sake of our planet, join me in eliminating this scourge from our midst. We can all enjoy “flat” Coke knowing that we are doing our part to save us all.

fine with me. I hate carbinated drinks. All they do is make me burp and upset my stomach. I also like to think about the money, and calories, I save. And I do not have to lug bags of the empty cans and bottles back to the store each week, like everyone else seems to do. lol ;)

Why bash coke and not pepsi? I could gladly do without it. Coke on the other hand is a staple in our household. Sorry. And flat coke? Tried it. No thank you. They do have a 1 carb coke (i think) and the diet ones have few to no calories at all. As for price, we don't buy it when it's $4 bucks a 12 pack. We wait until it goes on sale like it did the past week and stock up. There are plenty of other reasons our atmosphere is messed up and I am sure that there are other products that I could more readily do without if I even use them at all. Oh and exactly what study was done to prove that this much carbonation was released into the atmosphere from carbonated beverages? It is a little far-fetched don't you think? Don't believe everything you read. This person clearly has a personal agenda.

Ok, to make you happy John has added Pepsi to his "boycott"...lol :D And just in case you missed it, the post was a bit facisist (sp?) because my brother actually does not buy into the global warming hype. Unfortunately, his website went down and he wasn't able to to bring all of his previous entries back. He is one of "those" that believes that the earth warming is a natural cycle that our planet is going through.....there is proof that it has happened before man was even a factor in the equation.

So, go ahead and drink you soda! This was just one of those things that make you go, hmmmm.

By the way, who has a personal agenda? Me or John? And there is a study on this subject. This is the website that the information came from.

And once again, I posted this because I found it AMUSING!! because it is a joke! Well, technically it isn't a joke, someone is serious about it....but it is to John and myself...lol :D This rates up there with cow farts damaging the ozone.

Acutally I was referring to the author of the article. John was it? Just because someone publishes an article doesn't neccessarily mean they have a clue what they're talking about. With a little money I could no doubt get an article published somewhere on the net too. I'm glad it was a joke and that no one appears to take this seriously.

You know. I went all over that site and I failed to see one study regarding this. I think John and the British (if they are involved) need to blow it out their well-tailored behinds! Their just jealous because it costs more for a coke over there :p

The "author" of the "article" is my brother and the post is from his BLOG. He had come across the study that I listed and his post is linked to, and found it hilarious. As for having money? Now that is a laugh!! My brother is far from having "money"....as a matter of fact he is temporarily unemployed....lol :D

And about going "all over the site"? If you noticed, there are some words in blue...that means they are hypertexted and if you move your cursor over them it turns into the little "hand". The information listed in the blog is one big hypertext that links directly to the British study website. As for the information....that part is NOT a joke.

Telling John (who lives here in Memphis) to blow it our his behind is hillarious....I will have to share that with him. He has nothing to do with the study or the information....he just posted it, with plenty of sarcasm I might add, because he found the idea laughable.
