Hi Everyone...
I am looking for some help in filtering church lists that I have created. I obtained several directories of churches and am trying to filter and compile a clean list of valid churches in the US. Through various automated filter methods, I've got the list pretty clean but need the help of human judgement to filter out some remaining "low-hanging fruit"
I need a Christian for this who is familiar with mainstream (Protestant and Catholic) churches.
I will send you an MS Excel spreadsheet of church names from each state, and need you to delete certain churches, with the criterion based solely on the name of the church. Below are some basic guidelines on whether or not a church name should be removed. However I would also like you to use your judgement in deciding whether or not the church is a valid Christian church.
Church names that are mis-spelled
Churches that have non-English names (ex. "Iglesia")
Companies (ie. end in "Inc." or "Corp.") and Charities
Retail Stores/Services (ie. Bridal, Photography..)
Churches that have incorrect abbreviations
Christian organizations that do not sound like a church
Non-mainstream Christian churches (Unitarian, LDS, JW, etc)
I'm offering $5 for each state list, and each state has an average of 1000 listings to filter through. One person on my team did a state (with 1200 listings) in about an hour but I'd imagine she can go faster after the initial learning curve. I've got 45 states left, so its a good way for someone to make some quick easy cash :)
