Milesource: Anyone ever cash out for "cash"?

I'm getting ready to cash out of Milesource. After reading posts about how it takes forever to receive "award miles", I'm thinking of just requesting the cash.

Has anyone ever cashed out for cash? If so, how long does it take to get your money?

It looks like they have changed things recently. I cashed out for cash last year through the "awardcenter". It took approximately 3-4 months to get it and when I did, it wasn't cash but a certificate for an online gift certificate (?giftcertificates.com?) Cantremember the name of the site now.

Thank for the info Sue! I'm sure it hasn't changed and "cash" probably still means a certificate at "giftcertificates.com".

I've ordered gift cards through "giftcertificates.com" and they actually come very, very quick.

I redeemed my award miles for cash last December. The icon next to the cash option showed half of a dollar and half of a Wal-mart dollar. I don't know if that means that it was a Wal-mart gift card or if the cash was sponsored by Wal-mart or what. That was the only cash option I could find. It was for $10.00. I never received any confirmation or receipt for my redemption order but they subtracted my award miles from the total in my account.
I still have not received any award or award code. I e-mailed them over a month ago and did not receive a reply but I know they got it because they updated my e-mail address as I asked them to do.
