My sister called me this morning, saying she called our stepmother to see how she is doing, cause today is our fathers birthday and she wanted to see if maybe she was going to go to Arlington National Cemetery to visit our father's grave. Come to find out her (stepmother's) phone is disconnected and there is no further information. I asked my sister where in Maryland does she live, she says that she lives in a assisted living home, down there and don't remember what the name of it was, and can't remember what town it is in. According to Verizon, her area code and the first 3 numbers of her phone number, she lives in Hyattsville, MD., but she may live in Blandesburg, MD. I have been on my cell phone calling the police down there to see if they can help me locate her, or to find out if she has maybe died, or what. And I am getting nowhere. Can y'all please help me and tell me where else I could call to find out if she is died, or alive, or what. Does anyone know the names of the newspapers in Maryland, or in Washington,DC, we use to live there when I was a kid. Thanks for all of your help. P.S. My stepmother is 76 years old.

You can use dexonline. Search using that general area and look for assited living centers. You may be able to find it that way. Do you know who her Dr was? Did she have other children? Did she send you mail? You could do a re-verse directory search if you have her address, and get the name of the center.
Hope this helps
This link says they have all the newspapers listed

Valena,
If you want to pm me, I think I can help you out in finding out if she is still alive or not.
I would need her full name to be able to look it up, and the state of where she last resided.
Good Luck

When was the last time that you talked to her? If it has been a while and you aren't sure if she passed away, you can always check the Social Security death records if you know her birthdate, dob and the state she lived in.

The Washington Post (Washingtonpost.com) is the big newspaper here and also they have the Gazette. I know that the ost won't let you go back more than 7 days in the arcives without paying for it. Good luck on your search.
