Image that you reside in rural Tennessee and have decided that you want to keep a few chickens for fresh eggs, or a goat for milk in the back acre. What if you woke one day and the government wanted to put microchips in all of your little critters so that they can track them? And not only that, you have to pay for the chips, the cost of implanting them and the necessary tracking equipment. You learn that the government has decided it wants to play Big Brother with your livestock. Sounds like something out of a bad SciFi movie, but it is not, it is the National Animal ID program (NAIS) and it is here now.
The National Animal ID program was originally designed to give the big beef producers help in getting export markets which required disease controls. The idea is that every single livestock animal in the United States will be identified and tagged. All livestock animal movements will be tracked, logged and reported to the government. The benefit is to the big factory farms who probably do need this type of regulation. They get to do single ID’s for large groups of animals. Small farmers, pet owners and homesteaders will have to tag and track every single animal.
There are no exceptions - even small farms that sell direct to local consumers will be required to pay the fees and file all the paper work on all their animals. Even horse, llama and other pet owners will be required to participate in NAIS. Homesteaders who raise their own meat and grandma with her one egg hen will also have to register their homes as ‘farm premises’ and obtain a Premise ID, tag all their animals and submit all the paperwork and fees. Absurd? Yes - There are no exceptions under the current NAIS plan. The USDA has slipped this plan in the back door without any legislation. This is going to be very expensive and guess who is going to pay for it in higher food prices… You!
I stole this from my brother's blog. I thought many of you might be interested in this.
and after we are used to putting chips in all our little animals quess who will be next....US, just you wait and see, get us thinking nothing about it because heck out animals are chipped whats the difference. Kids today wont thinki nothing of it in 20 years.

wow this is mind blowing and I am glad you showed me the link to this site..... this would so effect us here on our little farm.............there is no way that we could afford to do this with the few cows, donkey, laying chicken, and all the other little farm animals that we have running around :(

Once again they come out much better than the smaller guys :(

It is so simple control who can raise food and you control the people, if they want to eat they have to get food from the govt.
It is a way to get rid of the small farmer.

I thought there was already a tracking system in place. I have an uncle that farms in NC and I called him tonight and he gave me this to go to. He voluntarily did this (NAIS) but he only tagged cattle, none of his horses or chickens;as he was told there is no need for it. He seems to think it helps with agricultural diseases as he has bought cattle and introduced them to his herd and the new cows be infected . Since he has done the NAIS it has helped to track 3 cases of hoof and mouth disease. I guess in way I agree with him , it serves its purpose but I see no need in making something mandatory if people have to pay for it. And as far as tracking pets and backyard chickens and such, that makes no sense at all. Next it will be chips for kids,o wait that idea has been tossed around a time or two...

You do realize that there are companies that require their employees to have a chip right? There is even a new chip that intergrates with the nervouse system to make it impossible for anyone to "steal" the chip and you got it! It can never be removed.

Here is a link here where I was asking mesue for help in finding more information on the subject. I figured if anyone would be on top of this it would be the conspiracy theorists.
Agenda 21, in a nutshell, mandated that all countries that were U.N. members implement all Agenda 21 requirements into their nations and governmental structures. The U.S. is a member of the United Nations, and therefore we were required to implement Agenda 21.
In the U.S., Agenda 21 is called by different names. We call it “sustainable development,” “sustainable communities,” “Local 21,” “Smart Growth,” and a whole bevy of other names. However, all these governmentally imposed programs and changes that we now see in our communities (and worldwide) are upon the insistence of the U.N. as outlined in the Agenda 21 document.
First and foremost, Agenda 21 mandated that there is to be NO ownership of private property – worldwide. The U.N. believes that all land, watershed systems, and natural resources must be owned and administered by “government.” To American people, this is what we consider to be Communism. We believe that ownership of property is directly tied to freedom. http://www.newswithviews.com/Levant/nancy32.htm

This wasn't a popular thread either. Guess there wasn't enough mud slinging in it to really be noticed.
