I have a checking acct that I don't use too often. This month, i was going to use the money i had in there to pay my trailor taxes and another tax bill. Those two bills was going to use up just about all of the money i had in the acct. I wrote out the checks yesterday and sent them off in the mail. This morning, I check my acct., just to see how much would be left in there. I noticed 4 withdrawals with my atm card. I know that i haven't used it. I don't even have the atm card on me. (it should be at home). Dh comes by my work and i ask him if he has the card. He swears he doesn't have it several times. I tell him about the charges and he still denies it. (The atm withdrawals were at banks on our side of town and he knows my pin number).
I then tell him "well let me see your wallet". He opens it up and there is my atm card right on top. He still swears he has not used the atm. I know he is lying to me and that ticks me off. Don't lie to my face when you were just busted with the card. I feel like calling my bank and reporting the atm stolen.
So now one of the checks i wrote is going to bounce.

You can get money in there before the checks go through, especially since you just mailed them yesterday. Hurry!
Take care of DH later and the account now.lol.

But i don't have time to get money in the acct. It is an out of state bank and I don't have any extra money. I get paid on Friday but that money has to go to daycare and car insurance. Then i'm broke.

I would be so pissed! Guess it's time to change your PIN and not him know what it is.
Maybe you could put the money in the account and wait on the insurance, til next week, maybe? Even if the insurance charged you a late fee, it would be better than a bounced check.
I hope things work out.

Make him give you the money to put back in there since he's the one who took it out. ;)

You could put a stop payment on one of the checks. You will be charged a fee for it but you will also be charged for a bounced check. Bounced checks you will more than likely get a fee for that from your bank and some places also charge you a fee if it bounces. So it could end up more expensive than stopping payment.

Here is the deal on this..
A). The Hubby or BF..put that aside for now.
B). If you call the bank and report the card stolen this is what happen's, you get FRAUD Unit, and they ask a ton of questions..so get the story correct, if you go that route, because somewhere and somehow, someone had your ATM pin..if they chose to believe you, that it was stolen..they put that money, back your account..until the investigation is complete..if they find against you, you have to pay the monies back..and interest..this process can be 120 days in Minnesota.
Of course, you shouldn't think if you have to pay it back, the bank will want your business again.
I know this, because a dear FRIEND at work, stole MY ATM, last year...so I figured her, she admitted it, so I was given back all bounce charges and alittle money..EVEN if she admitted it..the monies returned weren't really mine, so I never touched what they put back..so I ended up LOSING and never give my PIN to anyone, not even my MAMA..
Thing is your account, they see you as the RESPONSIBLE party..it isn't right, since it seem's he may have taken your monies, but that point, is MOOT.
Good luck.
If this was the MALE pal, I am sure, you can figure how to make sure he KNOW'S what a disaster this has put all of you in.

I would hardly consider it stolen if her hubby had it, she obviously told him the pin. Why encourage her to file a fraudulent report? Get your story straight ...tehe
And people wonder why crap in this country is so expensive!

i would have a dead man on my hands. there is NO EXCUSE for that. Thats exactly why no matter what. No one will EVER have access to my accts again. if he's gonna lie to you with the proof right there, i'd be wondering what else he's lying to me about, or will lie to you about -
 Exactly what does he need the money for that he didn't want you to to know about????

I agree with this since he is the one who SHOULD have the money. In the future, I would consider getting a checking account with only my name on it.
