My niece got a puppy surpirse for her birthday. We were all excited to see that she got 4 puppies.Im a little confused about something. The last puppy looks different then the other 3.Instead of it having a head and a body its all one piece of fabric(think of a weeble wobble with ear, hands and feet).Im thinking that its suppose to be the runt.Has anyone else bought one of these? Was one of your puppies a "runt"?

I just got one for my daughter for Christmas, and she was shocked  when her dog had 3 puppies, but one was a "hamster" . Inside the box there is a paper that reads:
"FINDING YOUR PUPPIES
*Open the pouch on mommy's stomach and reach inside to find your puppies.
*You might have a puppy that is smaller than the others. This means that it's the runt of the litter!
NOTE TO CONSUMER
If you are dissatisfied whit this product for any reason, including the number of puppies in this package, please call Customer Service at 1-800-752-9755, 8am-4:45pm EST, Monday- Friday".
I will be calling them and asking if they can change the way they make the runt. On the paper is says smaller than the rest, but this is a different animal entirely (does not resemble a puppy whatsoever) I am having a hard time explaining this to my daughter. She has been telling everyone that her puppy had two puppies and a hamster.
How weird! I hope this helps you!!
***This post has been edited to change the wording that I used that may have offended.

So just a question not to seem rude which I know some think I am but if a mother had a child who was deformed would you complain and have a hard time explaining to your child why the kid was the way they were? Just wondering ? If you have a hard time explaining a toy what do you do about people?

She didn't say anything about the color; she complained about it being "deformed."
Personally, I agree with Evrita and think this is a good opportunity to discuss how some animals/people are different (not deformed).

I know from a board I go to a woman who struggled because she had a puppy who was born deformed with its legs but it was the sweetest little puppy you could ever see. She didnt love that puppy any less if not more then she did the rest :D

Please excuse me as I made a bad choice of words. I realized this right after posting, and I assumed someone would point it out.
My only concern was that what came out of the stuffed dog was 2 puppies and an animal that looks nothing like a puppy at all. My husband thought that maybe the company makes them for different animals and there was a mistake and a different one ended up in the puppy that she got. I read over the entire packaging and all insert papers and there were no pictures of this "hamster", there was only a paper that referred to a "runt". That is when I decided to research it online to see if I can get some information and that is when I found this forum.
I really should not have used the word "deformed" as that is not the problem I had. I am having a problem trying to explain that dogs do not give birth to hamsters as my very young daughter now thinks happens.
I am sorry if my words have offended anyone, as that was not my intention.:(

Yes indeed .. that puppy was so cute .. glad she found a loving home for her.
And Lily-J, you might just want to explain when puppies are born some are smaller and they are called the runt and that is what that particular puppy is. Or you can just let it be and let her call it a hamster .. that personally is what I'd do.

Misty Wolf Thanks for the advice. However my daughter already understands that some puppies are runts, as the one we choose when we got a real puppy was the runt. She is just confused by the look of the little stuffed animal. It looks a little odd and nothing like a puppy. Like the first woman described it "Instead of it having a head and a body its all one piece of fabric(think of a weeble wobble with ear, hands and feet)."
