(undated) -- A Dead Deer Inside A Stolen Ambulance Were All Part Of A Bizarre Chase That Began In Danville And Ended In Caswell County Late Sunday Morning. The Man, Driving An Ambulance Stolen In Lexington, North Carolina, Was First Spotted In Danville, Then At A Rockingham County Convenience Store. Deputies From Rockingham And Caswell Counties Began Pursuit, Joined Later By The Highway Patrol. Around 11:45, Stop Sticks Were Used To Blow Out The Ambulance Tires And Eventually Bump It Off Route 700 Just Inside The Caswell County Line. Police Say A Deer, Which Appeared To Have Been Dead A Week, Was Strapped To A Gurney Inside The Ambulance. The Unidentified Man Was First Treated At Annie Penn Hospital In Reidsville, Then Taken To A Mental Hospital In Raleigh For An Evaluation.
