We are having a lawn sale this weekend This is our first one and I really dont go to many either so I am not to sure on what I should price things. There is a big antique thing going on a few miles from here and it brings in a lot of people from all over, so I know we will get people to stop. I just dont know what to price things.
We have a ton of DVD's we want to sell. Dh wants to price them as $10. each, Is that to much? To name a few we have Johnny English, Seabiscuit, Secret Window, Windtalkers, The Ring, Hidalgo, we have about 30 of them we want to sell. What would you guys pay for one?
We also have a Ab Lounge we bought in the spring, have used it maybe 3 times. Dh wants to get $50 for it, I am thinking that is to much. Would you pay that much for it? I do have the videos and papers that came with it. and it looks brand new. This is one Here (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2553317&cat=4134&type=21&dept=4125&path=0%3A4125%3A4134)
Also one more question, what would you pay for CD's at a lawn sale? Newer ones and older ones.
Like I said I dont know what to price things and IF we can get more money for something that would really help us out a lot. Thanks guys :)

I love to go to yard sales. I will be very honest, the prices you are asking are way too high. I would never pay $10 for a used DVD. Especially since they are not new releases. You can get brand new, older title DVDs at WalMart for less than $10. I will pay $3-$5 for a used DVD.
As for the ab lounge, excercise items are a dime a dozen around here. People buy them, never use them, store it for a few years. I am sure it is in beautiful condition, just remember there are plenty to chose from at yard sales. Asking $50 for a $93 dollar item, good luck. I would price it at $15 to $20 and prepared to take less if it has not sold towards closing time. I see top notch, very pricey exercise equipment for $5 to $10 all the time.
As for used CD's, I will pay $1 to $2. Never more. Again, these are plentiful at sales.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but it is my honest opinion. Good luck with the sale:) They sure can be alot of hard work.

My daughter just had a garage sale a few weeks ago. We sold vhs tapes for $3.00 each-cd's for $3.00 each and dvds for $5.00 As for the ab machine I would try for $40 but go $35 if you have to. Sure wish we lived closer to you hubby has been wanting one of those things. lol

This is about in line what I was going to say. I go to yard sales to find DEALS, not markdown....You can get a previously viewed dvd at Blockbuster for $10 and it is gauranteed, so why would I buy it for the same price from you with no guarantee?...see what I mean.
The important thing to remember, you are trying to get rid of the stuff and make money.

I have to agree with everyone else on the prices.
A good rule of thumb to yardsale pricing is to never price an item for more money than you would be willing to pay if you were buying it at a yardsale from someone else.
Good luck:)
