I was reading my local paper and came across a story about a fire and wondered if it was MsLynn's place.I called the newspaper to ask if she was the 911 dispatcher and they were pretty sure it was.I've exchanged e-mails with her a few times, but didn't know her last name.
I edited it out for her privacy.

Fire destroys Big Cedar home
By Ty Pierce, News Reporter
Early Saturday morning the Big Cedar VFD was dispatched by 911 to the residence of Lynn (edited out) located on White Loop in Big Cedar. A call was also put in to 911 dispatch by Big Cedar's Fire Chief Cody Putman to request assistance from the Whitesboro VFD, who arrived with two extra trucks to assist if necessary.
Upon arrival Putman and First Responder Darrell Medders found the occupants safely outside the house, which was about 80 percent involved according to Putman.
Putman and Medders proceeded to the rear of the house to pull the electric meter and shut of the gas to the residence.
Putman stated that after the gas and electric were successfully turned off they returned to pump one to charge the lines. Putman and Medders began their attack of the fire through the front door as the fire was venting itself through two separate windows on the east side of the residence.
Captain Alan Nevilles and Lt. Patrick Fitzgerald, John Sisemore and Tiffany Crookham arrived shortly after to assist. Putman and Nevilles proceeded to vent the northeast end of the residence. They then proceeded to the west end to suppress the flames inside the attic.
Captain Clint Fewell, Sisemore and Medders placed the ventilation fan and generator inside the front door to clear the smoke, which than allowed for salvage and overhaul procedures to be completed.
Putman stated that there was a large amount of smoke and water damage to the northwest and southeast bedrooms, but a minimal amount of flame damage. They were able to salvage some of (Lynn's) personal effects, but very little was saved from the rest of the home.
After inspection of the inside and extinguishing flames in the laundry room, Putman stated that he felt the fire had started in the kitchen or dining room area due to an electrical short. It took firefighters approximately five hours to extinguish the flames.
"We were lucky in this instance that we had plenty of water on hand. Sometimes it is difficult to put out the fires because fire hydrants are five miles apart in the area of Big Cedar," stated Putman. "Also, a lot of our fire fighters are new, however we have been training on a regular basis and our response time was excellent, I was very proud of their efforts and so were the owners of the home."
Putman stated that being a volunteer for the fire department was the firefighters' way to give back to their community. He understands what it is like to loose everything you own to a fire.
"Richard and Sandra Middget who are also involved in the fire department as auxiliary were very vital to the firefighters. They were on hand to provide them with drinks over the five hour period and to take pictures. We appreciate the Middgets. If they were not there our firefighters would dehydrate from the extreme heat that the fire produces." stated Putman.
Sunday afternoon during the cookout benefit for the Big Cedar Fire Department $150 was raised for (Lynn) to help replace some of the things they lost.
Middget who was present, voiced his thoughts on the Big Cedar Fire Department and how far they have come in so short a time. He pointed out that they do an excellent job and that the community should be proud of them.
