I have a friend who has puppies. They are miniature dashound mixed with chichiwa. I know spelled wrong. The father weighs about 4 lbs and the mom weighs about 5 lbs. She is selling them for $75 but will give me one free. She has 6 females and 2 males. I want a female so would be happy with the last one chosen. They are all precious. They are so cute and I want one so bad. But when we lost our last dog when she was 14 and then our cat when she was 17 my husband said he didn't want to ever go through that again. I know how he feels, because it was awful. He says I can get one if I have to have it but I don't feel happy about getting it when he does not want it as much as I do, or I should say he doesn't want it at all. So do I want to put up with a crying baby, training etc if hubby isn't into it as much as I am.
I know she would sleep in our bed. We travel a lot but with a dog that size it would be easy to just take her with us. What should I do in all fairness to both of us?

I have no advice, but I WANT ONE!!!

Our last doggie was chihuahua(sp?)/poodle mix and was ADORABLE. He died and we havent had one in a few years. I would LOVE to have one of these puppies.

This just occurred to me, try taking yoru DH over to your friends house. NOT to "see the puppies" but just over and have your friend hand him one. If he loves it, theres a chance he would come around but if he rejects it, I wouldnt even try.

When we lost our Peke at 13 yrs.old, my DH really did want another dog, the Peke was his baby and he thought he couldn't love another dog as much. We waited a year and got a ****zu, he wasn't too thrilled at first but guess who are like two peas in a pod now?? I say..go for it or like cpbaby said take him to see the puppies and see how he responds, you never know he might just fall in love with one of the pups...

pick the one you'd like to get , ask your friend if you can take it home for a night , see how it goes , lol
chances are very good that your hubbie won't want you to take it back ! That has worked for me in the past . :)

I bet that your hubby is putting up a front now and once he sees how cute she is his heart will melt and he'll wonder how he ever lived w/o her. ;) Losing a pet is hard, just like losing a family member, but when you think about all the joy you experienced with them wouldn't it be better to have loved and lost than to never have known them or loved them at all? Good luck with your decision.

Just a little story about my daddy.....

I got my momma a chihuahua two years ago as a gift...cutest thing you'd ever wanna see....my daddy on the other hand -absolutely dislikes dogs and cats no matter who owns them.
well....you can teach an old dog (daddy) "no disrespect" new tricks...
daddy loves "sweety" just as much as the rest of the family..
he cooks bacon in the microwave for her, boils her hot dogs, warms up leftoveres for her, etc... SPOILED ROTTEN and only likes people food (bad habit)
they have a love/ hate relationship............Sweety made daddy mad the other day, so daddy decided to go to his room and shut his door...
well, Sweety decided to follow him and bark at the door to get him to open it..
Daddy opened his door and says to Sweety----DON"T YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME--- and of course he let her in the room...
So, people can come around.....
it may take a little time---but ---if it can happen for us, it can happen for anybody!!!!

He will come around... my hubby always said 'no dogs until we get our own house' which I always translated in to 'I don't want a dog, stop bugging me' (we lost a cat he was really attached to a couple of years after we got married)... but we ended up getting one (even tho he protested) and now he would NEVER let this dog go.
