Davie -- Little girl rescued from car while her mother partied.

Police found a steamed up car in the parking lot of a bar in Davie around 2:30am. Looking closer they discovered a 2-year-old girl strapped to her car seat left behind in the vehicle. Fire Rescue were called to save the girl who was found "sweating profusely." The toddler was then rushed to the hospital and is now in Department of Child and Family Services.

The girl's mother Angela Horner and her boyfriend Wesley Pittilo were found inside Andy's located on State Road 84. They were believed to have been drinking and playing pool since 10pm. It is unknown if the girl had been left in the car the whole time.

The couple were both arrested and charged with one count of child neglect. Both Horner and Pittilo are from Tennessee. The 2-year-old will remain in DCF custody while police look for relatives in the area.

Earlier this week they had a 8 year old that smothered to death in the truck of a car while his mother was out partying. These people should not have children. They don't know how to be parents.

:mad: I realize kids do not come w/ handbooks, but c'mon a little common sense would do wonders! I can't imagine either of them would want to be stuck in a car for that long especially w/ how hot it's getting. :mad: Unfortunately now is the time we will be hearing more stories like this... It's so sad, but very common here in Vegas. Last year they found a child had been left in a van while his parents were in a casino gambeling. It's just so sad...

It IS sad. Horribly so. What gets into people? Where is their common sense?

I have this problem with pets being left inside cars too. I ALWAYS turn them in, and then watch the pet until something gets done. Last Monday I happened to be at City Hall and saw this adorable little toy poodle yapping away in a truck that had the windows all rolled up. I went directly inside and reported it. Two minutes later, the owner came out and left. WHY WOULD ANYONE LEAVE A PET IN A CAR LIKE THAT???? (not to diminish children left in cars. I've called on them as well.)

I have a dog story, but its long.

That is a horrible story! Thank God it was a good outcome.

not true,,, sadly devin died while his mother was working at a nursing home...and couldnt afford a babysitter... ( where was family in this matter ) not sticking up for her one bit just correcting this a little. i live in nc , right where it happeneds.
