We're watching the Muppet's Wizard of Oz and recording it cause the kids are sleeping. Did the rat really just say "Somebody's about to get b*&ched slap, I'm outta here" or did I hear wrong? Anyone else watching it?

No, he said somebody's about to get witch-slaped. But I do feel that some of this movie was in poor taste.

Oh thanks, I do agree with some of the movie being in poor taste also like the part about the nipples (LOL). It's for kids for pete's sake, I find it funny but not for my kids. Thanks!

I thought it was hilarious :D I watched it w/ my girls tonight and I for one am glad that the movies makers are making kids movies more enjoyable for adults. They drop little lines here and there, but the kids don't understand them... and if they do its not because they just now heard it for the first time in that movie.

I didn't get to see this, and I would have loved to. My husband and I love one of the characters that came from the new Muppets Show that they tried to come out with, on tv, a few years ago. He is the shrimp, well, he says he is a KING PRAWN. His name is Pepe, and we love him. Some of you might remember that he was the spokeshrimp for Long John Silvers for a little bit. My husband does a perfect impression of him. LOL.

Personally I Loved this rendition of the Wizard of Oz. And as for Todo being a "shrimp or something".
Just wondering...What did ya expect? It is the Muppets and last I knew most people whom make these movies take creative license to make thier product.
I never expected an exact rendition and was not disappointed.

dv8grl,
Pepe is the bomb, isn't he? The first DVD we had for our player was Muppets in Space. Like I had said in a previous post, my husband can do a perfect Pepe voice, and all of our friends know who is he now because we showed them parts of the movie. I actually found a Pepe figurine about a year or so ago online. He is awesome!  ;) :D  :)

:) I used to manage a video store, the ones in the mall.. Anyway, I'd hire a new part timer & they'd always be like "Whats this Muppets crap your watchin?" Then by the weeks end they would end up buying the DVD. Everyone loves that movie, I think I sold more copies of that than any other store in the galaxy because we would watch it constantly & quote it all day!
That movie brings back sooo many good, funny memories. I didn't see the Muppets Wizard of Oz, but if it had PEPE in it, I gotta catch it!
PS .. I too own the PEPE figure! Arrghhh!!!! Oh Kay..... LMAO! :)

Yup, Pepe was "toto". "Dorothy" wasn't allowed to have a dog, so she rescued a prawn from the diner she worked at and he 'grew' in oz. I liked it personally, but I love muppet movies! This wasn't supposed to be 'the wizard of oz' played by muppet characters, but the muppets in oz, a spin off of the 'original' tale.

I hope to be able to see the "Oz" movie too. I'm sure that I'll see it soon. I can't believe that there are other "Pepe Fanatics" in the world. I just thought that my husband and I were nuts....LOL! It is so funny the way he uses okay all of the time.I love Pepe, okay? hee hee

From UltimateDisney.com posted May 20:
ABC's irregularly-scheduled Wonderful World of Disney returns tonight with the debut of The Muppets' Wizard of Oz at 8/7 c. Reviews have been mixed and many less than favorable for the Muppets' first outing since they were purchased by Disney early last year. Those who cannot catch tonight's airing (or who simply love the movie) will be glad to know that this television movie will also come to DVD on August 9th. The disc ($24.99 SRP) will include "Oz Oops!" (outtakes, bloopers, deleted scenes), "Pepe's Exclusive Making-of", and Pepe's extended interview with Quentin Tarantino, who makes a cameo in the movie. Disney's official Muppets website has set up a section devoted to these two upcoming DVD releases.

I love Pepe too. I didn't catch the movie but I think it would be interesting to see him take the place of Toto.
