You can push something and it will do a trace. I think it costs though. I would contact the phone company, and they might tell you another way.

do you have SBC service? I have privacy manager and when people call my house and block their number they actually have to go through an automated system and say who they are. I get the call and the automated msg tells me who is calling and I can take the call, send it to voice mail or ignore it and the person on the other end never knows if I answred it or not.

I have my line set so that it doesn't accept calls from people with their number blocked. If someone has a non publised number they have to dial *82 ( I think) and then dial my number. If not they get a recording saying that the party they are trying to reach doesn't accept calls from blocked numbers. Maybe you have that option as well.

If you have a phone book, you might want to see if there is something in there about "annonymous call rejection". I think the code to turn it on is *77.

Here's a link, don't know if it works in your area or if it's free or not.

I had this problem a while back. The police station can put a trace on your phone for 30 days and whoever is doing it will be charged with harassment. You have to go through with the charge so make sure it isnt someone you know pulling pranks. I didnt end up putting the trace because all I said was "this is the last chance I am giving you to stop playing games if you call back one more time I am calling the police and putting a trace on your number and you will be charged for harassment." I had the problem for about 2 months before I finally calleed to see what I could do about it. The police take it very seriously though so make sure thats what you want to do.

I had a problem with people calling my number-thinking it was a fax line. Over and over again. It got to be a real nuisance. I called the phone company (SBC-love 'em) and told them what was going on. The woman was able to get in touch with the number calling, and make them stop. Turns out, my number is one off of a realto around here. The dumbies gave out MY number by mistake. Errr. They are SO not ever selling my house. lol

A few years after DH and I were married I kept getting really scary prank calls. They would only call when DH was gone (which was even more scary) One night he happened to be home from work and the guy called again. I picked the phone up and didn't say anything and handed it to DH. He listened for a minute then said something (I don't remember what it was) and the caller was telling DH how he (the caller) was sleeping with me and how I was so good at this and that (I had just had our DD 3 weeks before lol) DH told him that I wasn't good at any of that so he must have the wrong number ... then he hung up and looked at me real quick and said "I didn't mean it! I didn't know what else to say!" LOL The guy never called our house again lol

It is so funny that your husband said that he didn't mean that. It is cute. I'm glad the calls have stopped, though. ;)
